Maybe I'm just clueless, but in the description it says one game is needed.

How is it possible to play with your steam friends it the game is local multiplayer?
If you're using VC then how would your teammates be able to help the one with the game if they don't have it or able to see? (I'm guessing screen share on discord?)

Maybe have a few more but thank you for your understanding.

The person with the computer/game is the defuser and can see the bomb while the expert has the manual, from www.bombmanual.com, which allows them to work out the individual modules and give the appropriate instruction on how to disarm the bomb verbally. The defuser is not allowed to see the bomb therefore do not require screen sharing or a set of controls.

Correct. Those are the rules...

The expert shouldn't be able to see the bomb.

You can play over voicechat with only the defuser needing the game.

But over voice chat the manual reader cannot ever be the defuser if he doesn't own the game, correct?

Not through the games code but the timer is so limited on the bombs that you practically couldn't use this method to complete some, if not most, of the bombs.

You can even play over 3rd party chat programs, but it really is a party game for people in the same room.
