There's a deep connection between the Traveller, the developement of The Rogue of Nexus and its developer, both will go forward, both will change.

As players know, when the Traveller gets caught by The Hand, he will be dragged in the Abyss, and that will be the end of the run... but not of his journey, also... the next time he will stand up stronger and will proceed even further in this world of darkness.

That because in the Abyss the Traveller stops for a moment and waits, before restarting again. In the Abyss he meditates about himself, his path and his goal, and here he upgrades himself.

It's time for an Abyss Upgrade.

Now it's your turn: check the latest and last 1.1.7 version (for now) of The Rogue of Nexus: play the game and experience its improvements, this is also a great chance for sharing your feedbacks about the game, that will be very helpful for the future.

There's finally a great boost to battle enemies' behaviour, namely active and passive skills, for more interactive and tricky battles!

The Rogue of Nexus 1.1.7 changelog:

Enemy Battle patterns added in order to give active and passive skills to enemies
Text update and new text;
Enemies update;
Lowered the cost of the weapon sold in the first city from 10000 to 5000
Rebalanced player skills;
Rebalanced weapons;
UI update and repositioning;
Now only enemies that are supposed to escape can be removed from battle by crossing the red dotted lines;
Added visual effects to character and enemies
Fixed excessive knockback scenarios that would put enemies out of borders (they will be placed at the edges of the battle screen instead);
Added "xp" text next to the experience obtained number, for more clarity about what you obtained; (thanks to RikerRiker for the suggestion!)
When you enter in a dungeon in which an active quest takes place, you'll see a text warning that reminds you which quest and type it is (thanks to PseudoPstupid for the suggestion!)
Slight update to dungeon enemies' movement behaviour;
Skills are shown and usable in battle since the very beginning
Artifact effects are displayed immediately as soon as you find them in dungeon's treasure (thanks to PseudoPstupid!)
Quests accepted and artifacts found in inventory now will be sorted at the top the scroll UI in the order they have been obtained (thanks to PseudoPstupid!)
Added 2 extra buttons for quick access to Artifacts and Quests pages of the inventory UI (thanks to PseudoPstupid!)
Now the enter dungeon UI above character displays only on the spots in which the next artifact to find is hiding, to avoid confusion
Replaced normal dungeon stairs with another sprite, with transparency and that stands out better from the nearby ground;
Less text for tutorials, more smooth tutorial
Removed the critical chance penality from Guardian Emblem artifact
Now the first blunt weapon skill inflicts a status that lowers enemy's defence;
Changed the graphics of normal dungeon room's floor, in order to look more similar to it's battle background version;
Improved interaction with hidden walls: now you can hear a sound by touching them, instead of using the Shield Bash, so it's much faster to find them;
Now it's possible to swap weapon set in any moment by pressing tab;
Potion bosses in area 1 now will disappear from dungeon if they are not defeated at the first attempt, like if they were defeated;
Dark Potion bosses now will disappear from dungeon if they are not defeated at the first attempt, like if they were defeated;
Rebalanced player's weight slow down, in order to not be linear and to decrease speed at a lower ratio than weight increments;
Player's weight slows down only in battle now;
The upgrade sound for weapons and artifacts won't stack anymore, if you upgrade multiple times quickly (thanks to PseudoPstupid!);
Fixed a size minor bug with The Hand that appears in dark dungeons, when night is about to come;

(all the changes are also applied to the demo 0.6.2 version, check it out!)

Hey dev. I see that a run is generally around a half an hour, but how long until you actually 'clear' the game, and is there any post-game content? Any plans for more content? Thanks!

The Rogue of Nexus, version 1.1.5

Welcome back, Travellers... 2026 will be a year of changes.

First of all, here's version 1.1.5 of The Rogue of Nexus: the more i iterate on your feedback, the more improvements become accurate, specific and effective. This version is the result of those iterations.

Actually it turned out being pretty big as boost to UX, here's the changelog:

- Major UI adjustments and improvements

- Strong tutorial boost to increase readability, feedbacks on UI and smooth tutorial text;

- Boosted all worldmap interactions, in particular the city open UI, which now has a way more clear UI;

- Worldmap interactions show now the input button, say which keyboard key to press too and which action triggers, centered on screen;

- Improved in a similar way stairs interactions in dungeon, much more flexible UI;

- Dark gimmicks trigger again after getting the Compass Shield;

- The Hand cell timers are now visible, as soon as the Soft Warning triggers for that cell;

- The Soft Warning yellow vignette effect has been removed in favor of a more enjoyable background (the timer will provide the same info);

- Now the critical warning is definitely much more clear to understand: A big red text will display and The Hand will become visible in dungeon;

- The scripted critical warning tutorial event has been removed (i will happen only when triggered for real)

- Added notify info by clicking to "!" marks of events;

- Minor events changes;

- Minor notification changes;

- Bugfixing;

- Fixed a bug which would make you step forward when triggering some certain event, even when you shouldn't; (thanks to Sheivez!)

- Several text changes;

- Now the infamous abyss cutscene is fully skippable with just one button;

- The Hand catch scene and transition to abyss is faster in general;

- Improved scrollbar visibily and interactions: mouse wheel works properly and can scroll the UI from any position;

- Rebalanced Seed's roll chances of choosing secret artifacts (less likely);

- Quest updates;

- Added a Weapon in the first city that can be both purchased with coins or found in the secret treasure quest (as previously);

- removed ON/OFF button next to artifacts in inventory, when it's not possible to deactivate such artifact;

- Added a warning for the player when it's quitting from a dungeon in which there's an artifact yet to find;

- Added a tutorial for dark dungeons;

- Resized battle mode sprites/skills, in order to match the size of battle background;

- Fixed Force Blast skill graphics;

- The hitbox of the player in dungeon is now smaller and slightly centered below, toward legs (thanks to Toiosoko for suggestion!);

- Added a text warning when you finish a quest;

- After running away from an enemy in dungeon, it will stop move for 2 seconds, to allow the player to go away (thanks to Toiosoko);

- Minor fix to sudden triggers to visual effects of Critical Warning, or after particular scenarios;

- Fixed a Hand grab scenario against a boss dungeon, which would make trigger the boss victory music, while being dragged in the Abyss;

- Fixed a minor bug with health loot in dungeon that in very rare cases would not be possible to collect; (thanks to VioletNightmare!)

- Passages among rooms in normal dungeons don't show anymore a closed door as sprite (it was still a normal passage);

- Hidden walls won't roll anymore as passages to a secret room of dungeons of area 1;

- Now the flash step will become available even after triggering the tutorial of Dark dungeon;

- Added glow UI effect to relevant interactions, in order to guide the player through the early stage of the game and learning;

- Added pulse UI effect to other relevant interactions, in order to guide the player through the early stage of the game and learning;

- Added "!" mark notification to inventory to let the player know when they get something new in the inventory;

- The dungeon of the compass shield now provides 10 gems in its chest in order to allow the player to see quickly artifacts upgrade;

- Finding a weapon you already possess as treasure loot, will provide dark matter instead;

(those changes will apply to the latest demo too, version 0.6)

Happy holidays, Travellers, one more gift for you!

Released version 1.1.4.5 of The Rogue of Nexus, after more feedbacks and several insights on others' gameplay

Changelog:

Core input system for Keyboard, now playing mostly with keyboard is much more flexible (more improvements and coverage will follow);
Fixed minor UI visual bug;
Minor localization text fix; (thanks to VioletNightmare and Anita_was_here!)
Minor text update;
Added a new tutorial event to warn about the infamous lv 50 zone and about check the Lv in the bottom right UI;
Added a further boost to Compass navigation in worldmap to find artifacts: now in area 1 the compass will literally spawn in the right location, when you're distant 5/less squares from it;
Fixed a bug that would not remove the tutorial early event which blocks access to the Lv 50 zone (not the one mentioned before);
Minor changes to the seed;
Fixed a bug in placement of few UI at certain screen resolution settings; (thanks to VioletNightmare and Anita_was_here! I noticed that in your streaming)
Removed a not-so necessary tutorial message to explain the Abyss Upgrade (redundant, thanks to PuzzleBoxMansion!)

(those changes will apply to the latest demo too, version 0.5.9.5)

If you cannot find your saves, go to the folder: C:\Users\ \AppData\LocalLow\Power Up Team\The Rogue of Nexus V1 and copy its contents into the folder: C:\Users\ \AppData\LocalLow\Power Up Team\The Rogue of Nexus Then you should be able to find all your saves when you start the game.
