Game save reset to 0 progress

I accidentally increased the size of the UI too much while the settings box was at the left side of my screen so I couldn't move it back into view. I just closed the app and restarted it cause it resets everything to the center of the screen. But when I booted up the game again, it had been completely reset as if I was starting it for the first time. I've tried closing and reopening it a few different ways and installed the update but it's just going from that reset point now. Is there a way to get my old save file back?

Hello, I'm sorry that happened, in %appdata%/LocalLow/Moczan/Ropuka's Idle Island you can find file name 'RopukaIsland001.bak' or 'RopukaBackup-x.x.x.bak' if you rename it to 'RopukaIsland001.dat' it will restore your savefile.

Thank you! I changed "RopukaIsland001.bak" to "RopukaIsland001.dat" and deleted the file that was already there named "RopukaIsland001.dat" and it worked.

yeah i had this issue as well i did the above steps it dident work but after turning off steam cloud then doing the backup it worked.

This happened to me today as well. Closing the game was also the trigger in my case. I've had the game shut down randomly (fault of my PC, not the game) a few times before without the game having issues. But today it completely reset my game.

The steps I took used all the methods listed above and an additional step detailed at the bottom of my post:

1. Located my Appdata > LocalLow > Moczan / RopukasIdleIsland folder
2. Copy + pasted a new 'RopukaBackup-x.x.x.bak' and renamed it 'RopukaIsland001.dat'
3. Moved all .dat files to my desktop outside of the newly copy pasted 'RopukaIsland001.dat'
4. Steam client > Steam (menu) > Settings > Cloud (left column menu) > disable/uncheck "Enable Steam Cloud"
5. Went to Steam Client > right click Ropuka's Idle Island > click Properties > Clicked "Browse..." button (in "Installed Files" menu to the left) and Launched RopukaIdleIsland.exe
6. Checked that the save was restored and shut the game down.
7. Did Step 5 again and turn on "Enable Steam Cloud"
8. Launched game from Steam client. It asked if I wanted to restore the Cloud save or the Local save. Clicked Local save.

For some reason, I couldn't get my original save to load by going through the Steam client and had to launch the game once directly through the .exe in my folders as per Step 5.
