The Triple-i Initiative has announced its return on the 9th of April at 9am PT/6pm CET, and we’re excited to share that we will be revealing something there!

The show is only back-to-back trailers of games from other studios like us - all in 45 minutes - with world premieres, gameplay reveals, launch dates, demo drops and more. There's no hosts, ads or sponsors – just games!

Hey Disco Crew!

This update is a big step toward tightening the core feel of Dead as Disco. We’ve focused on making combat more consistent, more readable, and better aligned with the rhythm, especially based on the issues many of you pointed out during the demo. The demo has also gotten a bit of a glow up, with updated art, lighting and animations throughout.

Finally this update will release our first pass at Localized text in the game. We realize that this first pass isn’t exactly where we want it to be, expect to see some translation issues, missing strings and minor bugs. We’re still new to localization and we NEED YOUR HELP! Please play the game in your native languages, and give us feedback. We will be posting feedback threads on the official steam community pages for each language, as well as working with our community in Discord. This will help our regional localization partners to improve the experience, so we can deliver the right tone, feel, and execution that our players deserve. 

⚠️Heads up: As part of ongoing development, SAVE FILES AND LEADERBOARDS HAVE BEEN RESET. You’ll need to start a new run and go through the tutorial again.

April 9 HOTFIX
-Under the hood adjustments and removal of files not needed for the demo

April 7 HOTFIX
-Fixed a rare issue where enemies could spawn inside of the ground. This could create a setup where the tutorial was unable to be completed
-Fixed an issue where the active selection could go off the right of the Stage Select screen when using a controller
-Potential fix for a rare case where users could get a black screen when rapidly skipping through a video
-Potential fix for an issue where songs My Music songs would sometimes not loop properly when the Infinite checkbox was checked in Infinite Disco
-Adjusted the cooldown of Drumstick Toss to make it less spammable

Gameplay
-Many under the hood changes to make combat snappier and more responsive
-Fever Rush now requires at least 1 bar of Fever to start (doesn't cost the bar on activation, just a requirement to start)
-Fever Rush damage has been slightly reduced
-Increased the camera rotation speed when auto framing enemies to reduce the total amount of time spent moving the camera
-Perfect dodge timing has been standardized (previously the timing could vary per enemy attack)
-Saved game files have been reset
-Leaderboards have been reset 

UI
-Health has been changed to use Hearts instead of a bar
-Fever meter is now segmented for better readability
-The gameplay UI has undergone a visual pass
-Fever Bar now flashes and has audio if there is insufficient fever to use an ability

Art
-Multiple animation updates to improve variety and combat feel
-Astral Waters and Bubblepop arenas have received a significant visual update
-Improved lighting across all levels
-Improved combat & level VFX
-Numerous performance updates to improve frame rate

Music
-All songs have received updates to their mixes
-Mission, Echolokators, Rhythm Divine and Hyper Sunrise have all received new vocals

First pass text localization for the following languages:

Bug Fixes
-Fixed numerous cases where objects were incorrectly obscuring the camera

Known Issues
-There is text overrun in the UI certain languages 
-Some localized strings may be missing 
-The Beat Keyframes feature in the Advanced Song Editor is currently a work in progress. There are a number of bugs with it - so consider it an alpha feature to play with
-There is a rare issue where Charlie will sometimes dash across the arena when attacking
-There is a rare issue where sometimes enemies will pop into the air when countered
-Some users are getting a black or flickering screen when playing the Halloween arena in Infinite Disco on dx11. We are looking into a fix
-We have reports of some users having issues navigating Video settings while using a controller

April 15 HOTFIX

-Added Streamer Safe Mode!
This can be found in Settings > Audio
Turning this on will make sure no licenced tracks are available in the game, so you are safe to stream! Infinite Disco will hide licensed music, and “Authority” will play in Hemlock’s level

Bug Fixes
-Fixed a crash issue where some players were crashing when their username had non-standard characters
