thats why people generally dont allow it on mp. because people are forced to attack what is going to be a well defended position whilkst taking sustained casualties before hitting any lines.
Well atleast it's tweaked but still yes very powerful :)

Honestly I don't think that Howitzers are (that) overpowered, but Cannons are underpowered, especially vs Inf (they do decent damage against cav tho). The problem with Cannons is that the slightest hill or sloop on the map can mess things very badly for them.

I think flying penguin is correct cos' a poorly placed gun is useless ostentibly is alos correct because a Well placed unicorn can turn the game around
Cannons are to reflect reality sd best as possible if you get your knowledge from movies, well hollywood likes to over dramtic things like that, in reality a cannon would only be able to kill at the highest 3-4 depending on there the cannon ball would hit, but not go against a whole row. But yes it's very unrealistic that the men just get up and pretend nothing has happend :) clearly they probably would have been suffering from lesser damage from the impact or their comrades.

Napoleon himself was a trained artillery officer, and often commented on the importance of artillery. "Great battles are won with artillery" ; "God is on the side with the best artillery " and so on. Well manned artillery is the decisive difference in an otherwise even battle. Artillery caused many more casualties than is frequently portrayed in movies, because portraying that takes the romance out of war, it is simple killing and slaughter which no one wants to watch.

I have a question though. What is meant here by "unicorn"?

It is not fair to make rules banning Unicorns because using them is only using the specialties of the different factions. Also Russia is the only nation that has unicorns so by banning them in a game you ban a nation's specialty. It would be like banning the Windebusche Jeagers or Old Guard.

simply don't join those games :P my favorite faction is Russia :P i like to see the french go down after a charge :P i play unranked matches for the most since im new to this game and just want to see other peoples strategies. i remember once in a match at waterloo, i got the russian and the other guy got the spanish, so i had a 10lber and a 20lber unicorn :P first of all i provoked him with my incorns to take shelter in the two houses after that i focused on the enemy artillery :P

My standard line infatry didn't pull a single shot of before we occupied the house :Pmy unicorns made shot work of his 12lber and his 2 6lber even if it took a good amount of time :/ but after that was done i just rushed all of my infatry over the hill and into the house :P simply i just flooded the building with my men focing em out :P now i got a soldig ground so i started to advance my cavalry and my elite infatry while he rushed alot of his trooped down to recapture the houses there my cavalry made short work of em, only four of my units were routed :P none shattered, So with the russian faction just use superior numbers and you'll win and get into melee combat as fast as possible :P

It is definetily not overpowered. The unicorn costs very much so you cant take much of them. And you can take them out easily with cav.
I think that although the unicorns are powerful, that is slightly offset buy their price. However, they are VERY powerful regardless of cost. Treat them with great cautiousness, and never simply charge them in a massive blob as one of my enemies did once; I had 3 20Lb unicorns and got over 300 kills in one volley.
