Final fantasy type 0 just won't launch
So I've tried so many things. I've googled it and tried a lot. Redownloaded the game multiple times, installed direct X, some decimal thing. Does anyone have any idea on how to get it to start?

You and me both mate. Tried everything. Apparently, after searching the forum I found out that they might be working on a patch to fix that. Messaged SE support yesterday, I guess they'll answer soon. Now we wait, if I find some solution I'll post it here.

Better Uninstall and refund, its a waste of time

It worked fine for me before.. I haven't played in a while, tried launching the game today and nothing happens. I'm thinking it might be a recent Windows 10 security update (which is also why I can't play GitS First Assault). I hope they get a patch out to fix this soon, very annoying.

UPDATE: Ok, so M$ just released another security update patch to fix what was causing my other game to crash. However still no luck with FF Type-0 :(

Read a good part of this old topic, seems that the problem was the same at launch, and that they've been waiting on a patch since. Some have found solutions, but so far it's been exceptions that do not work for others. It's truly discouraging... I hope that the solution is out there somewhere (topic: https://steamcommunity.com/app/340170/discussions/1/528398719788849719)

this is very anoying, i just want to play this videogame, there's a lot of people saying that we can fix this just changing something in our system, but... i just want to pay and play, if i need to check the settings and all my system to play this... not cool, better go and install it and have all that issue with a no authorized installation. i hope them fix this soon...

Nope, still searching. There's this theory that says it's because your GPU doesn't support DirectX 11, might be that for me. If that's really the case, only thing to do is to buy a new one... But otherwise there's nothing, except rumors that the devs are working on a patch but, last time officials told about it was in august. (https://steamcommunity.com/app/340170/discussions/0/537405286661601935/), nothing since. Still waiting for an answer for SE Support.

Of course my vga could handle DX11... both on my laptop (GT 540M) and desktop (R9 280 Dual-X). On my laptop it crashes right after the launcher ("ff has stopped working" etc.), but I have still to try it on my desktop... (that has a better hardware for sure... it can handle all the recent games maxed out, like AC:S, GTAV, Batman AK, FO4, BO3, SW:BF, etc...).

@littlejp4, I think you might have the same problem as me, the GPU on the g7 doesn't support DX11. I'll see if it works, I've ordered a new one. SE support messaged me back, only to ask for more info, if they tell me anything useful I'll post here

Maybe this could be an issue, but my card supports DX11 so it's a game fault I suppose...
Momo Jan 5, 2016 @ 1:56pm
EDIT: nevermind... seems that I solved it... I checked on the nvidia panel, and even if I had selected "high performance" for FF Type-0, the global settings was on default... so I selected "high performance" for my global settings et voilà, now it works.

Thanks for that link. Emdin's trick worked:
"i have resolved the problem yes i have dx11 and i have 64 bit, the problem is that the steam install is flawed if will download dx11 and vcredist files but it wont properly install them you have to open your steam folder go into the game folder find the dx11 and vcredist folders and manually install dx11 and windows c++ 2012 befor the game will work" -Emdin

I put a ticket into SE, they emailed me back and said they would have an answer in 48 hours... here we are 72 hours later with no answer.
