True, how many Japanese games only have English subs and keep the Japanese voicework?

There are a ot of people who speak french. Check France. Versions in other languages means it can be marketed to other demographics who then buy the game and compensate for hte money invested in the actor and their agents and the translators.
The entire ♥♥♥♥♥♥ art games trend like "detroit become human" is what makes this simple but funnier games to get more spotlight, but many people had jumped the wagon with shovelware that forces this stuff to just get targeted niches into buying it. In fact this does not only apply to videogames, all forms of media being translated to another language suffer the same risk.
I forgot to add "in my opinion", i am politely sorry. I am just not into walk simulators that are focussed on art, as my review on "path of life" shows. But back on topic, not only the new voice actors need to be paid, also the translators (which can not be replaced by machines unless you want gibberish and accidental innuendo) and the sound studio. So it's not rentable to translate games if you have a limited budget
