Any chance we will see this game open sourced like the first one?

Hi, the first game was released on 1998 and released as open source with gpl license 6 years late.

Considering that this game is currently 17 years old (released 5. Apr. 2007 according to steam), I was wondering if there's any chance we will see the source released too?

The developer, Altar Games, was purchased by Bohemia Interactive shortly after publishing this game, so I would be surprised if anyone even has the source code anymore.

That would be sad, I hope you are wrong.
I think releasing the source could bring the game more content and features and would make sense after so many years.
