I want to love this game so badly. FWB 1 is the only game I've ever 100 percented and it had so much soul and creativity. The NSFW scenes in this game are a marked improvement from the first and the customization is a wonderful quality of life change. Overall, if you're just looking to goon this will be a great pickup. However, It's held back by a few things that make me sad to give this a mixed review. What made the first game special was all the heart and soul put into every scene and interaction. Truly you went through the ringer with a lot of the romance options and each of their story lines felt deep and complex to interact with. It really helped with the immersion and made the sex scenes feel earned and intimate. This game... Not so much. While the quick and successive sex scenes are great for yerkin your gerkin, they cheapen the overall experience to: Hello my name is ____. Wanna have Sex? What was so great about the first game was the level of complexity each character brought to the table. While I am admittedly a loser for caring this much about a porn game, the comment that everyone leaves is that FWB 1 is a game you get for the porn and finish for the plot. While there is a longer story campaign in this one it feels slightly disconnected and lacking in detail. This lack of detail extends a lot to the dialogue as well. I realize that the characters are different versions of themselves in a different universe, but most of their depth has been stripped for the sake of appealing to kinks. Also I don't know if I just don't remember this detail in the previous game, but seemingly everyone in this game is a virgin? Not that that's a bad thing, it just feels like a weird obsession in this game in particular. And the final point I'd like to make in this very verbose gooner take is that the backgrounds being AI really ♥♥♥♥ up my enjoyment of this game. I understand that making a game is a ♥♥♥♥ ton of work, but as an artist, its sad to see other artists taking such lazy and poorly thought out shortcuts. Every scene looks slightly off and is missing all the original charm that made the first game so memorable. You really felt like you were going around the show and seeing familiar locations while having some fun. No such thing is present in this game. Every frame there is something off visually and the art style switching every scene is a massive immersion break. I'd much rather this game take an extra year to come out or part of the budget should have been set aside for a background artist. I understand that this ♥♥♥♥ is hard and the complexity achieved is impressive, but I would have even taken reused assets over slop pulling me out of my immersion every time the camera shifts. So in conclusion FWB 2 is a better NSFW experience that its predecessor, but lacks a lot of the core heart and soul that made the original so compelling. If you just want to get your rocks off to some ponies, this is the game for you. If you were a huge fan of the first one, its fun to see familiar characters and go through a new experience with them, but a lot of the original vibe is not really present. Maybe its because I selected the option saying I'd already played the first game and that's why the introductions to each character are so truncated, but if Mr. Scarlett doesn't have the time to draw backgrounds anymore, I doubt he'd re-write anything more than what was necessary to ship the game on time.
