At the end of Zero (the morning of the day RE1 happened), Rebecca takes a hike through the forest in order to get to the mansion. She explores the mansion with Richard (Umbrella Chronicles Wii), he gets bit by the snake, Chris finds them both later.
The events of RE1 PSX are retconned by REmake. In that game, Rebecca isn't really as incompetent as she was in the PSX version. As for her weapons, there's plenty of time for her to have lost most of them before the events of RE1 happened (fighting with Marcus, hiking through the forest, etc). Most of those are for gameplay purposes anyway, so I wouldn't put too much thought into it.
But things happend differently in the book if you read them , when Alpha members and Wesker are in STARS headquarters they recieve a transmission from Bravo helicopter which indicates they having problems and they are going down at that time.
Just half an hour later Alpha team is on its way to Bravo's last known location and they find the downed chopper in matter of hours, thats why i said timeline didnt make sense , when they arrived at mansion it was merely hours after Bravo team crash , where as rebbeca makes it to the mansion a day after it! which if it was correct Rebbeca couldn't even make it to mansion by the time it turned to rubble!
Just wanna point out that the books arent "canon" even tho they are officially licensed.
By the end of the day, Capcom has the final say in this.
As for the whole affair, we can assume that Enrico didint want to warn Wesker (since he gets to know Wesker is the traitor) and didint reported in until much later (probably due to him knowing the situation was getting out of hand).
Alpha team is probably mobilized during the early afternoon and gets to spencer's mansion by nightfall (after investigating bravo's chopper).
RE0 could had been pressured for release (it was already in development before 2000, only release Nov 2002). RE0 originally allow Becky or Billy to die, having multiple endings just like RE1. I wish they go down this path.
In RE1, there are lots of story conflicts. Who fought which boss? Solve which puzzle? Chris or Jill? Notice sequels avoided those ambiguous questions. To me, slight inconsistencies in story won't hurt me, as long as game is fun to play.
Dev certainly know the issue of which is canon. Just avoiding with no intention of solving it.
