Black screen after starting the game

I press Play, the game window appears, I see the Capcom logo, then nothing. Black screen. Anyone else? Any suggestions?

The WMVCore.dll file in the newer build of Windows 10 is a newer version. Anyhow, download the linked WMVCore.dll and put it in the RE:0 root. I have not tested this, but it has fixed my black screen issues for RE and Dragon's Dogma.

Do you have to put it in steamapps > common > Resident Evil 0? Because that didn't work for me.

I put the wmvcore in the folder then ran it in windows 8 compatability and that seems to work for me

I have tried Exile's way to put WMVCORE.dll in the base folder and this still not working. Always black screen after starting the game, and I am even not able to see the CAPCOM logo!! any help?

I have a similar problem:

On launching the game I got an error message saying that I needed the latest windows media player installed - then the application just quit.

Then tried putting the wmvcore file in the game root folder - so far so good, no more windows media player pop-ups. But. Instead I get a crash as soon as the Capcom-logo fades away.

Any suggestions? :)

None of these solutions worked for me (Windows 8.1 64 bits, R9 380 GPU). Can't wait to play it... this sucks.

EDIT:

Fixed after using the file provided by Exile (thx a lot!) and right-click the launcher > "resolve the compatibility issues" (my system is not in English, this might not be literal, sry). It worked just fine. Thx again.

I just play in windowed mode on my Win 10 system. I play in fullscreen on my Win 8 pc.

this really helped out since i had windows 10 and i have it on full screen. download the media feature pack and it should run the game for sure

Im using windows 10 acer nvidia 1080 and doesnt have windows 8.i have tried putting the .dll in the folder but still didnt worked. I can hear the sound effect but still black screen :( please help...
