Resident Evil 0 / biohazard 0 HD REMASTER Bug Reporting Thread
Report in, Bravo Team!

We hope you’re all enjoying Resident Evil 0! While we hope all of our fans will have a great time with the game, there will always be some cases here and there where the game may not function correctly under certain environments and / or hardware combinations. That said, we’ve set up this feedback thread for you all to share any technical issues you may be having with the game. We’ll use this thread as a central repository for tracking these problems, and pass on the information gathered here to the development team so they can investigate.

Before providing reporting further, please ensure you've followed the steps below to rule out problems with Steam or the game’s files:

Ensure game files are intact using Verify Game Cache
1) From your Steam Library list, right-click on Resident Evil 0 / biohazard 0 HD REMASTER and select Properties.
2) Click the LOCAL FILES tab.
3) Click "Verify Integrity of Game Cache..." and allow the validation process to run its course. Please disable or shutdown your anti-virus while this process runs.

This process allows the Steam client to scan every single file you downloaded for this game, verify checksum of each, and compare that against the file manifest data on Steam's content server. If the file is missing or has a different checksum value, you will receive a message stating "X files failed to validate and will be reacquired." What this means is that some files have either been deleted, or may have been corrupted. Click “Close,” and Steam will automatically download and / or replace the problem files.

Reinstalling your video card drivers
We also recommend making sure you have the latest drivers for your graphics card. Some high end integrated graphics chips and modern laptop class discrete GPUs may work but have not been tested, nor are they officially supported by Capcom.

AMD Drivers[support.amd.com]
NVIDIA Drivers[www.nvidia.com]

If you still experience crash issues, you may want to try performing a clean installation of the driver set. This will remove any extraneous driver DLL files or game profiles that existed with the previous driver installation.

Important! Lastly, please don't forget to reboot Windows upon completing the driver installation. This will help reinitialize the driver and the graphics card using the new driver.

Reporting crashes
If you still experience poor framerate, “slow motion” effects, crashes, or other issues, please help the dev team by providing detailed information below.

The more samples and data points we receive, the better we are able to narrow down and determine the root cause of these problems. Here’s what we need:

A) Your System Specs
1) CPU name & model
2) Name / model of the desktop or laptop (if available)
3) Graphics card / chip model and the amount of VRAM
4) Video driver version number
5) System memory size
6) OS version (Windows 7, 8, 64-bit/32-bit, etc.)
7) Anti-virus software name and version

A good deal of this information, such as the graphics card model and VRAM, are available by running a DxDiag report. For more information on how to run this report, click here[www.fuzeqna.com].

B) Specific issue
Please share your specific issue and the location(s) where you’re experiencing the issues – for example, if you’re having problems with the framerate, is it happening constantly, or is it during certain cutscenes, during gameplay, etc.
If the game is crashing, it would be super useful if you can share your app crash log file via downloadable link using any one of the popular file hosting services such as DropBox, GoogleDrive, OneDrive, etc.

C) Detailed reproduction steps, if consistently reproducible
This step particularly is very useful for the development team. The more detailed info you can provide, the quicker the team can reproduce the error state and (hopefully) fix the issue.

Thank you for your patience and support!

- Capcom Customer Service Team

Please note that this thread is only for posting issues with the game and specifications; in the interest of helping the development team better investigate these issues, any extraneous discussion or derailment may be removed.

Possible fix ? http://residentevilmodding.boards.net/thread/6008/d3d9-proxy-controller-remapping-more
Tried that and all I get is:

Fatal Error:

ERR09: Unsupported Function

What a shame.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

EDIT: I got the game to at least start by making sure the "Patch_PresentParamters" section was disabled.

Regardless of entering 3840x2160 in the resolution settings.

Still no real 3840x2160 DSR.
Still upscaled 900p on all resolutions above 900p.
Still partial aliasing on all edges of 3D models on all resolutions above 900p (even with forced MSAA).
Still waiting on Capcom to fix this.
Still not holding my breath as I believe this game has been abandoned.

Not to mention setting resolutions between native 1080p and 4K DSR gives 900p windowed on 1080p black bordered screen. (or worse)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Boy Capcom really borked the resloutions on this game. They get (Well founded) complaints about RE1HD giving users slowmo because the game rendered to 1440p and upscale or downscale. Their solution is to make this game render at 900p and upscale?!!!!

I have an idea for Capcom. Make the game render at the resolution the end user chooses with NO upscale OR downscale. No slowmo for anyone.

Simple.
Nice idea :D
1) In Leech Hunter, the game always hangs for a while after opening the door to the 2F West Room (with the crows) and the 1F dining room (double doors). The game freezes and stops responding to any input.

After some time and after pressing alt+tab several times, it unfreezes, and never hangs anymore during the same session. If I end Leech Hunter and start it again, the hanging reappears. This has been happening recently. I've already verified game cache files, but it did not fix this bug.

2) When I leave Rebecca's handgun, the game also hangs for a while. After some minutes, it unfreezes. This also happens if I discard Rebecca's handgun if it's in Billy's inventory.
When picking ammo up you get the option to "combine" but when you do combine to a low gun capacity it tells you, you can't.

Making you have to pick it up just to combine.
This looks like the exact same page they used for Resident Evil 1 Remaster and Capcom did not respond not once :-/
That's because it's exactly what this is...

When running the game in Big Picture mode, the cursor is always in the center of the screen.
Howdy guys,

I'm also having issues, first off I'll list my specs:

Avell Notebook G1511 Fire V2
Windows 8.1 Pro 64-Bit
Intel Core i7 4720HQ
8GB RAM DDR3
Nvidia GeForce GTX960M 4GB VRAM
Nvidia Driver 361.91

Anti-virus: Kaspersky Lab

So, first time I ran the game it opened up in a windowed mode in some lower resolution(probably 1280), it ran fine with sound and image. The first I did was to go to the graphic options and change the resolution to 1920x1080. If i remember correctly, the game told me to restart it to for it to take effect, so I did. But now All i get when i open the game is a black screen but i can hear the sound.

I've already made sure my Nvidia and Directx drivers are up to date; I've also verified the game cache as instructed and lastly I also reinstalled the game - All no to avail :(

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance
Im having the exact same problem. Did you manage to find out how to fix it? If so, please explain to me how to do it. It's driving me crazy!

Same slow motion effect as RE1 remaster, that was fixed by a fan lag patch. Why would you guys do the same thing again? I don't want to render the game in 1440p (assuming it's the same issue as RE1), my laptop's native resolution is 1366x768. Please fix this.

CPU: AMD A10-4600m @ 2.3Ghz, 2.7 Ghz Turbo Boost
Model: HP Pavilion m6-1035dx Notebook PC
GPU: Radeon HD 7660g 512MB
Video Driver: 15.300.1025.0
RAM: 6GB
OS: Widows 7
Antivirus: Trend Micro Titanium, but turned off when trying to play.

Well, there is an application that makes the game run better. It's HiAlgoSwitch, but, maybe will have some bugs in the graphics.

You'd also wonder why and how this game got "Very Positive" reviews, too.

There is a huge conspiracy afoot! It all began whe........ wait? I hear the black helicopters! Got to go!

...
1) When starting up the game for the first time, it starts in a window instead of the fullscreen mode; many will not know how to put the game into fullscreen mode (Alt key + Enter)....

This information would have been helpful--critically--if I had known it before asking for a refund. I could play the game only in a window, and that was pathetic. Fortunately I can re-purchase it.
Just in case in fact it could be of some use, despite not seeing many patches released, nor any response from Capcom, I keep reporting bugs:

A) System specs:

1) Intel Core i7 920 2.67 GHz
2) Custom desktop PC, MSI X58 Pro-E motherboard.
3) Nvidia GeForce 550 Ti 1 GB.
4) Video driver version 364.72.
5) 6 GB RAM DDR3.
6) Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 x64.
7) Avast! Free Antivirus 11.2.2261.

B) The game doesn't save any custom controls. When assigning new custom keys for the keyboard and accepting, the game apparently saves the new settings, but the config remains the same, the controls are the same as before, and returning to the Controls menu shows the default ones... again.

Also, 4:3 mode in a 1280 × 1024 screen shows black bars not only left and right, but also top and bottom, just as it happens in RE1R Remaster...

C) Anytime in the game.

1st bug of note:
a thin white border around the game when changing the resolution...

The problem occurs because the game needlessly adds a entry into the registry at this location...

HKEY_CURRENT_USER>Software\Microsoft\Direct3D\Shims\MaximizedWindowMode

The entry is (your drive letter here):\(your steam folder name)\steamapps\common\Resident Evil 0\re0hd.exe

Looks like this as an example X:\steam folder\steamapps\common\Resident Evil 0\re0hd.exe

Removing the entry fixes the problem
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
EDIT: provided a better explanation to manually fix the thin white border bug. 1-20-16 1108pm
EDIT2: forgot to name the complete folder directory for the registry.1-22-16 928pm

Wooooow

Fixed here!

Thanks mate.
Game runs fine, but your puzzle is broken. At least MY copy is broken. At the water treatment facility, right after the cutscene where you see billy in the water, then you gotta fix the power supply, it won't work.
When I select a point to restore power, only that one dot will light up green, and it won't spread out like it should. I choose the points needed to complete the puzzle, and nothing happens, it says there isn't enough power.
I viewed many playthrough videos on how to complete this puzzle, and it does not function the same way as the playthrough. What the ♥♥♥♥.
