Worth getting, or wait for Re0make?
Title. The Re0 / Re1 bundle has been on sale for $10 CAD numerous times now, but I've previously let it pass me buy. Now that RE has become one of my favourite franchises (currently playing Revelations 1 due to my 3DS nostalgia), I'm thinking now's the best time to play them, especially with the rumours that Re0make is the next RE game.

What do you think? Get the bundle, or wait for the likely remake?

There wont be any remakes of remakes anymore. End of story.

Even if it gets a remake it's still a cool old game. Same with the remaster of the first. They're both a must-play if you're a fan imo and both ran perfect no screwing with fixes or anything like that.

I think its better to buy them alone if you have doubts, dont find most cosmetics worth it.

Imo RE remaster is impressive, excelent game, 0 is ok...

Just dont find this one scenario as replayable, idk youre kinda given no reason to.

It will come down to whether you can tolerate the traditional camera, controls, and inventory. If you can't, then watch a video for 0 and 1. I covered them but if you'd rather have no commentary, I could recommend survival horror network. They cover pretty much all horror games, no obnoxious face cam or commentary.

I'll admit, I watched a GDQ playthrough of RE0 and it didn't look nearly as engaging as Revelations. Maybe I'll pass on it after all.

If they ever "remake" this, it's going to be a completely different game, and since RE0 isn't "popular" Capcom is likely to treat it like some garbage low effort side-project as they did with RE3, if not worse.

So no reason not to play the original if you can and want to play it, especially when nothing has been even announced yet. The hypothetical remake won't be an upgraded version of the same game, it would be its own thing with a copy-pasted name.

Wait for re0make bro, Rebecca's model in this is like a 12 year old boy's. Compared to Billy it's even worse.

wait.
just play the game. remake will be nothing different beside some new events and 3d combat
I ended up buying the bundle and am currently playing through REmake. The fixed camera angle is definitely old-fashioned, but it has its charm and is highly immersive.

i think thats why they hesitate to remake re 1 and 0 again. the settings doesn't allow flexibility that much compared how big re 2 and 3 can be readjusted. but idk the future as money talks and bills dont wait

REMASTERS are the cure for this franchise, which has been dead for some time now, no reimagined remakes, they failed, as far as the fixed camera is concerned, those who don't like it, I'm very sorry, please QUIT from the FANBASE

Given that post RE2make / RE7 Resident Evil is one of the most successful and critically-acclaimed horror franchises ever, I'm gonna call that a spicy hot take. It just seems insane to look at a world of copy-pasted Assassins Creed and Call of Duty, and say that no, the REAL problem with modern gaming is REMake!

REMakes aren't perfect, but compared to the "AAAA" slop we get these days, its a paragon of good game design. Attitudes like yours is the reason "AAAA" gaming is headed over a cliff.

try to use your brain resident evil 7 is stupid, I'll explain why, in resident evil 1 if you went outside the mansion the forest was full of zombies and zombie dogs it was very dangerous, in resident evil 7 it was enough to break a window of the house and run away ,there was no zombie or zombie dog out there who was really stupid, Ethan stayed in that horrible house, when he could have escaped by doing a very simple thing, body parts that reattach themselves after being cut by a chainsaw my god no comment, ridiculous , resident evil 1 remake IS PERFECT, 2 and 3 reimagined NO, CUT CONTENT AND TOO MUCH REIMAGINED, why continue this tragedy ?

Both story beats have an entirely reasonable explanation. Ethan stays in the madhouse because he wants to save his mind-controlled wife Mia, who cannot leave under her own power. And the reason he can survive horrible injury is that he really did die when Jack punched him in the prologue, and is now a sapient Mold zombie just like the Bakers and Mia (albeit still possessed of his free will, as is Lucas). In fact, when Jack cuts his leg off with a shovel if you screw up the escape to the basement during the first Jack chase, Ethan is as astounded by being able to glue his leg back on as the player is. Criticize RE7 if you wish, but don't try to pretend that this sort of nonsensical sci-fi schlock wasn't present in earlier games, such as your beloved RE1's nonsensical mansion layout.

I partially agreed but did you forget that he came in to find his wife?

You might dont like it but lets be real here the whole story of re 1 and why the mansion has the layout like that is due to the fact it is designed by a top tier architect in order to hide the lab underneath and capture people for the experiment. I would say other game like re 0 and re code veronica is a more non sensical replication of re 1's plot and setting. it doesnt make sense as much there compared to re 1
