Order of RE games?

I have one or two of the other remake RE games and some of the newer ones. I would like to play them in order. What game is this in order of orignal releases? The very first one? Some of the title names are confusing. If anyone has the list off the top of their head that would be useful.. just pc releases.. and which ones have remakes.

Resident Evil (+remake of original from 1996, has remaster)

(Resident Evil Code: Veronica, not on PC but a major game)

Resident Evil: Revelations 2

-Resident Evil 0 (Recommend playing AFTER Remake as it spoils some of Resident Evil 1/Remake and it only takes place a day or two before anyway)

-Resident Evil Remake

-Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City (Mercenary point of view of RE 2 & 3, considered non-canon)

-Resident Evil 4

-Resident Evil Revelations

-Resident Evil 5

-Resident Evil Revelations 2

-Resident Evil 6

RE 0, Remake, Operation Raccoon City all take place in 1998. RE 4 in 2004. Revelations is 2005. RE 5 in 2009 with the DLC mansion section in 2006. Revelations 2 in 2011. RE 6 in 2012 and 2013.

so is it better to play 1st the standard RE1HD, and then play RE Zero, right?
im gonna get the origins collection on dvd when its out and i want to know the best order to play the games

Correct. If you've played the games before and know the storyline, like myself, then I'd play in chronological order. If you are unfamiliar with the games I can't recommend playing Zero after Remake enough. It ruins some of the plot of Remake explaining certain events that you shouldn't know while playing Remake (RE 1).
