It would be nice if Capcom could digitize RE2 and RE3 Nemesis on Steam...
Those games already have PC versions. Why not just port them to windows 7/8.1/10 and be done with it. I know RE2 is getting a remake but it would be nice to get those classic games on my steam account as well.

Get off your high horse buddy with this pride nonsense. What harm am I doing in downloading a game I've owned on multiple platforms in the past and that is no longer offered for sale anywhere? Without such site many fantasic games would have been forgotten, it helps preserve old games.

If you feel that friggin bad about it send the developers some money.

Ive read no such confirmation. However if thats true i can finally play through all the FF games in order again.

Wait... FF12 is still the elephant in the room right? lets hope that comes sooner or later as well.

Pirate? Since the only platform i haven't actually bought Resident Evil 2 and 3 for is the Dreamcast & Nintendo? It's fully legal to pirate a game as long as you have the games already/proof of purchases. 'Tard' nope. It's a fully known fact that capcom don't care about the community anymore, they don't read what people what on steam forums then think 'this guy is a genius let's do it!' it's not negative at all. Leave it at that, they won't be added to steam, so go find a small retro store, buy the game, add the game to steam. Don't be a nugget.

Yep I've got the Sourcenext version of RE 2 and it works great.

However, to play in English you'll need to patch the game: http://re123.bplaced.net/board/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=64 and to fully translate everything to English you'll need a copy of the origional US release too from what I remember.

Edit: Apparently this patch translates everything to English, but please note I have not tested it:

I also managed to get the retail UK version working fine on Windows 7, but can't remember what I did to do that now. No idea if the UK release will still work on Windows 10 either.

Sourcenext RE3 worked great for me in the past too, but I haven't tried playing since upgrading to Windows 10.

I dont want to resort to name calling. i didnt want this to derail into "piracy wrong or right"... im simply a RE francise fan and would like the entire series on Steam.

But capcom don't listen to fans, spesh on steam. So download the sourcenext versions or buy the games. Simple, it's not hard. It's not rocket science. We're all huge Resident Evil fans.

As an example Diablo 1 has a HD mod that makes that game work with windows 10. However to use it you need the disc in your PC. i have nothing against something like that.

As for being called "demented" because i want to buy a digital version that works... thats kind of screwed up dude. anyone normal person woudl think you were the one that was a tad off.

I asked if it worked with the retail disc and i was given a NO as an answer. if it works with a retail paid for version of the game. i appreciate the info.

FFS what a waste of time.

The games will be remade eventually and they'll be great. However, until then the PC versions of both Resident Evil 2 and 3 work absolutely fine. I have the Xplosiv version of Nemesis and I've never had any problems on Windows 7 or 8. Resolution is a little wonky but it's not a big deal at all. You can find them really cheap in stores a lot of the time and if that's not possible you can find them online for pretty cheap, too.
