I'm like the other dude a couple of posts up. In that I mastered tank controls just fine for the original games. But pretty much have always played with alt controls since. (or 3D as they were originally known on the games that offered a choice)

Know what game swayed me? Silent Hill 3.
That had both options and at first I used the tank controls with it because I was used to it from RE games.
Then one day I tried the 3D controls and thought "whoooaaa..! this is easier.." lol

"modern" controls break the game adding the abilty to just run around enemies....f**k that no point playing classic Resi if your gonna play in baby mode just stick to 6 onwards.

Basically you press up in the direction your character is facing and they walk, the direction can change depending on the camera angle but you will always press up to walk forward.

how do modern controls break the game???? the game still plays identical to when it originally came out doesnt it? the controls were not changed to anything other than RUN/AIM/FIRE/Inventory were they??

or have they added something new to the game?

Controls like Devil May Cry you can run past everything I tried it for about 20 seconds and turned it off.

Yeah as far as i can remember the original Resi on playstation was just like that...didnt have the press down and a button to rotate 180 degrees though...came in 3 i think

I agree totally but people shouldnt complain about the original better scheme thats been there since day one and is the foundation of classic Resi, just because they cant get to grips with it...nothing wrong with the system its the gamer holding the pad thats got the issue.

A bit yes i agree... try to run around zombie with so responsivnes on tank. Old re was designed for tank? Proof? play 1,2,3, remaster on gc and 0 on gc. Still i dont mind is non of my buissnes how someone play game. As long as they wont cheat. I play as i want with tank and thats all i need to be happy and feel classic spirit i can tell i threat tank controls same as fixed cam angles. Its just is as it is. Still is MY OPINION ! So don't be emberessed just play as you want. This option witch both presents modern/tank is in game for a reason. Sure game wasent designed for that but its not cheat is designed for modern audience which dont like tank. End of story.

Not quite. The classic controls were a thing back then. They added a new control option now. "Better" is only your opinion. If players find the new option better then its their opinion. Fools who beg others to play the game the way they want them to play it need to shut up...

If you ask me all threads about "modern/ tank controls" should be closed permamently and being closed soon as they appear. Choice of contols is matter of taste and nobody have right to choose for you. Its option on game options in games are for making chooice and customizing game to OWN preferences.
