Honestly I was about to make some corrections on the things you said about RE0 and clarify on why that was happening to you, but since you've made it clear that your RE0 has been terrible I won't try to make you relive that nightmare again.
I'd tell you all the tips & tricks about RE0 you'd missed that would make playing it tolerable, and a few other users can chime in too, but at the end of the day RE0 isn't always for everyone the moment someone feels miserable to even suggest them to play it once more for a second chance.
That's the weird thing. I have a lot of patience. I did the clock puzzle by brute force and replay the intro train level to learn new techniques.
I want to love re0 but, it's like re cv hd edition. I want to love both games but with cv hd where on Xbox 360 the lighting is so dark due to game engine lighting and color contrast. I can adapt to engine designs . But, bad game design, rushed game development, and really cheap enemy AI like the monkeys . I don't think re0 is a good game.
I can enjoy most re games even re garden . But, re0 being, it was rushed in under a year. The game just has major kinks that need patched or ironed out.
I don't think I can enjoy re0 to the end. I even played re rev 1-2, 1 hd, 5, and 6 on my switch to see how those port handle. An revisited the Xbox 360 versions. An it's always re0 that feels under finished.
I enjoy Rebecca and Billy's story. But when things don't load, AI is programmed really bad, and AI enemies are programmed to be faster than you causing instances of stunlock. That's just really bad game design. An I hoped the PC version or the HD builds fixed these issues.
So, re0 just feels like a bad game but is great when modded to be better. When re1 HD feels so much better to play. I just wish re0 had had the same improvements re1 HD had.
The moment you have to use a guide to enjoy a game. That's really not good.
