How useful is the knife

On hard?? Im playing on hard n it seems to take about 5 bullets to kill a zombie as doing headshots isnt a exact science, ive only pulled off one proper headshot n aint got a clue how I managed it. Tryed the knife also to conserve bullets but died. So what do you say is the best way to keep ya bullets n make it thru the game

Shoot them until they are on the ground. Then use the knife until they get up completely. That's my strategy.

n are you going into the menu everytime to equip or is there a quick button you can use for that?

Yeah, you have to go into menu to equip/swap weapons everytime :/

knives didn't get good till 4 the qucikslash.
the euipknife, attack twice maybe, equip pistol, is purely just tedious and even with some generous missing from zombies, it aint gonna help you much at all.

1 hit kills crows on hard, getting that down really helps but the hit detection can be... odd.

So playing on hard what youre saying is ill still get thru the game taking 5 shots at zombies unless I can run past them?

Headshots in this game are completely random, same with RE1 HD.

Using the shotgun I imagine the zombie has to be right up close for the headshot to work? The aiming up mechanic requires it doesnt it?

Did u know that it takes 2-3 knife stabs to the leg to take down a zombie on normal and hard difficulty. (80% chances are 2 hits), i recomend using Billy coz hes much faster at attacking.

you can knife the scorpion boss to death easy even on hard. saves a fair amount of ammo early on which is useful. forgot about the knife for anything else pretty much except 1-2 zombies somewhere.

it takes a good amount of slashes and patience but you wont take any damage from the scorpion boss if done right. just turn around run towards the door take aim and aim downward so you slash downwards. wait for boss to get close then start slashing downwards. hell stagger backwards everytime you hit him. wait for him to return and slash again. works everytime. make sure to stand close to the door always so he doesnt use his charge attack on you.

saves you a fair bit of handgun ammo early and dont need to waste the shotgun ammo you find either. you can still use the 2 shots from the hunting gun as its fairly useless afterwards since you get the real shotgun the moment you can set foot into the mansion.
