RE0 real time graphics mod (hotkeys for noise filter, color filter, etc)
Same as with RE1 ( http://steamcommunity.com/app/304240/discussions/0/350540973999781985/ ), with this mod I modified shaders responsible for effects that deserve to be in an options menu.

Download link: https://s3.amazonaws.com/masterotaku/Resident+Evil+0/RE0_settings_mod.zip

Unzip the contents of that file in the root folder of the game, "Resident Evil 0".

If you use the fps fix mod, which is also a "d3d9.dll", rename it to something else and uncomment the

ProxyLib = "I:\Steam\steamapps\common\Resident Evil 0\fpsfix.dll"

line in "DX9Settings.ini", writing the correct path to the renamed dll.

Hotkeys (by default all effects are untouched):

- F1: noise filter toggle.
- F2: color filter toggle.
- F3: fog toggle. It has three presets. One of them disables fog and shadows, and the other just the fog, but characters have the fog lighting on them.
- F4: bloom toggle. No drawbacks, as far as I could see.

Some of the effects are made to compensate each other's brightness and contrast, so sometimes disabling just one effect won't be a good idea. I don't have a clear cut suggestion as with RE1. Test for yourself what combination you like the most.

The noise filter was probably made in part to mask banding and compression artifacts. You will notice it in dark sports. I wouldn't have minded if the game size was doubled in exchange of better backgrounds image quality.

Yes. The after one (in examples) is like having a ReShade setting.

Works! Can you create a guide, as Steam discussion threads tend to get buried?

That's a good idea. I was surprised about how too few people commented about this mod, because the black crush problem is something that people complained about when the game was shown for the first time (and also at release).

I'm currently busy with some other games (making 3D Vision fixes), but I'll do it when I have some free time.

It would also be great if someone with an AMD GPU tried it. I don't know if it will work.

That's because few people are aware of your mod. I dislike film grain very much and even held off from purchasing the game, I found your mod by accident when searching for "Reshade".
The mod has now been added to the RE0 PC Gaming Wiki article: http://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Resident_Evil_Zero_HD_Remaster#Film_grain

Your mod? Why wouldn't it work with AMD GPU (I have Nvidia)?

It's great that both mods (for RE1 and RE0) are now in pcgamingwiki (they are even hosting the RE0 mod files). The guide will have to wait a few days at the very least.

I can't really know for sure until someone tests it. All I could try were Nvidia GPUs. There was someone in the gbatemp forums that couldn't get it working quite right on an Intel GPU, using a very low end laptop.

No. They are finished. What else could be done?

Bloom have much bugs in re0 and in re1 bloom work more better, but dont work in all light sources =(.

Noise filter dont remove 100% of film grain in two games =(.

fog is perfect in re0 because is pure white but in re1 is dont equal =(.

So i asking if you can have fix these minor bugs ?

masterotaku Jan 1, 2019 @ 12:26am
The noise filter should be perfect as it is. It's what I tested the most. Keep in mind that it can't do anything about noisy background textures.

But yeah, maybe I can improve the fog and bloom removal options (their problem is that they disable more things than I want). I'm currently busy with other games, but I want to play RE1 and RE0 eventually (I haven't finished them). Once I do that, I may update their mods.

Date: unknown, sorry.

ooooh. I have to see how well this works. This game really needed more options like this.

Can you see if you can lower the background resolution like in RE1 mods?

That's not something I can do, I think. I suggest you to try using Special K to dump the textures, pixelate them yourself and then load them in the game. But I don't know if that will work fine with my mod.
