Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead

Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead

"Addon 'sauerland' requires addon 'Chernarus" DayZLauncher error
I keep getting this error when I start to connect to an Epoch server and the game starts up with the error message "Bin/config.bin/CfgWorlds/Chernarus.ilsPosition" and it takes me back to the main menu. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game and mods but it still does not work. Please help me!

Copy the 'Addons' folder from your ArmA 2 directory and paste it in your Operation Arrowhead directory, then try :)

Thanks for the fix. I did this using a 'directory link' instead of a file copy that would need another 8GB of disk space. Using the 'mklink' command line\cmd.exe prompt program instead of doing a file copy of the AddOns directory:-

D:\Steam\steamapps\common\Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead>mklink /J AddOns "F:\Steam\
steamapps\common\Arma 2\AddOns"

Note that the example above uses a Steam library installed on D:\Steam\.

Another advantage of this is that the D:\Steam\steamapps\common\Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead\AddOns link-directory will never be different than "F:\Steam\steamapps\common\Arma 2\AddOns" so no need to another manual file copy if F:\Steam\
steamapps\common\Arma 2\AddOns gets Steam updated.

Directory links are a logical pointer to another directory. They have a shortcut arrow on them in Windows Explorer.

i know im a little late here, but im writing this as im copying the addons from arma 2 into file to store, then im going to move the addons from arma 2 oa into a second file for safe storing. is this the right way to do this?

And one more thing, do i need to remove the addons from arma 2 oa or just copy and paste arma 2s addons in there?

If you can tell me the full path of your Arma 2 directory (Mine is D:\Steam\steamapps\common\Arma 2, yours probably will be different). I can advise you on how to do a command line directory link of the Arma 2>Addons directory that won't need anymore disk space.

aight, i just said ♥♥♥♥ all and threw the addons from a2 into a2 oa and it started working again. but thanks for the help ^^
Following Xavstar's (post #2) suggestion, you DO NOT NEED TO COPY THE FILES! And the link you create must not be a full (absolute path):

1) Find and open your SteamApps folder in Explorer
2) Shift+RightClick on the "Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead" folder, select "Open command window here" - this will open the cmd.exe inside this folder:
C:\Steam\SteamApps\common\Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead>
3) If both your Arma 2 and Arma2OA folders are in the same SteamApps folder, simply enter:
mklink /j AddOns "..\Arma 2\AddOns"
The positive result will be this:
Junction created for AddOns <<===>> ..\Arma 2\AddOns

You can start your game now and have saved a lot of disk space :happy_creep:

The fix from Sir Warren also worked for me as well in 2019. Had to add the context menu first by going into regedit but found a anohter website that explained that
