Possible CD key Error Fix (works for some)

• First, set steam to ALWAYS run as admin, exit steam by right clicking the icon by the clock on bottom right of the screen and select "exit". Then right click the icon you use to launch steam on your desktop and go to "properties". Click the "compatibility" tab. Click "change settings for all users" on the bottom. Check "run this program as administrator" on the bottom and hit OK. Hit OK again on the other window. Now every time you launch steam it will be in admin mode. That fixes 95% of the problems I have with steam.
• Now launch regular Arma 2. Once that loads, exit and then launch op Arrowhead.
• If that doesn't work you may need to verify your cache on both of them.
• Some have said restarting their computer after installation fixed it for them, try that.
• If THAT doesn't work try deleting local content for both games and then re-download them. Once you have them downloaded run regular ARMA 2 first. let it install and run. load into training or something to make sure it's working. Exit that and then try running Op Arrow. Should work. The important thing is that Steam needs to be running in Administrator mode when you install the games. That's all I can give you. Good luck.
• EDIT-- I recently thought of the idea that disabling user account control in windows might help solve this.. it's just a wild guess but it's worth a shot...You can do this by going to Windows Control Panel and clickng "User Accounts" and then "Change User Account Control Settings". Slide the slider all the way to the bottom "Never Notify", and click OK. It is not reccomended to leave this setting this way, as it can leave your computer vulnerable to malicious software. If you are going to try it, make sure you put it back to where it was when you are done.

That sucks man. Hopefully Steam fixes this issue soon. I just posted this because I've helped a few other people and this worked for them

skid_marks do you think you could help me with a problem im having installing my arma 2: operations game? i try to install it but i get to this point were it says copying exsiting into steam... do you know what that might mean?

I have no idea, bigtk1992. All I can say is; Steam needs to be running in administrator mode at all times. You need to install AND PLAY regular arma2 BEFORE you attempt to install Operation arrowhead.
