Seems like a windows problem, not a game problem. From what i've seen running the game without battleeye works fine. At least in the old version 1.62 it does. You can play singleplayer with mods fine that way, and if you want MP you just need to know the IP.

hey, uhm.... how can I find mods for this game, cause when I search on youtube, it just shows the new game Arma reforger or even just arma 3 in general, and since I just got lucky and bought this game when I still a job, but then the whole pandemic occurs and I don't have any job at all, so I can't buy those games, I just luck out on this game

This is a pretty old game so you won't find anything on youtube. But there's plenty of them around. ModDB is a good place to start, but the place with most mods is an FTP server hosted by jerry hopper (formerly armedassault dot info). The link is both around here on a thread on this forum and on the bohemia interactive forums. Not sure if steam allows me to post it here as a reply.

What do you mean you don't know how to join MP servers? if you're running the latest game version then all you need to do is click on the menu.

That’s what I use and they’re still a good handful of service running plus it’s got all the mod packs that you can install in the launcher so all you have to do is have steam open and then you just join a server through the launcher and it opens arma OA up for you

Are you trying to launch the game by itself or with a launcher? And are you on Windows 10 or 11?

For people wanting to find the Arma 2 Dayz mod, there are at least two ways. If you are only interested in the original vanilla Dayz mod, you can get it for free (as a dlc) on Steam. If you are interested in all the mods, like Epoch and Origins, and all the maps, you need to download DZLauncher for Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead (also free) and then from that launcher you can install all mods and maps you want.
There are probably more ways, but these are the ones I am familiar with.

As far as the Windows 11 problem goes, I guess the best way is to keep an older version of windows in a preferred way. Right now I have reverted to Windows 11 version 23h2 (and it works great right now) but I am thinking of setting up either a virtual Win10 or just have 2 OS ("dual boot") on my PC.

so idk if im lucky or what but i was having the error with battle eye that i couldn't start the game because it couldnt access the device or file on my downstairs pc and it was updated fully on 11 with only one drive today i went to my gamerroom pc and it was out of date and i did the install of tall the arma 2 stuff and dayz mod and it work but on this pc i have 5 drives and i did all installs my G drive not C game ran fine and i updated windows and it still runs fine ..........so idk if its that nothing i need for the game is one the C drive or the fact aht i installed before update then updated but game runs perfect on newest windows patch that everyone is saying broke battle eye

do a rollback, even if youre over the 10 day OS rollback period, you can rollback your system to remove updates. the game is crashing because of the update 24h2, not the windows 11 OS itself.
