Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead

Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead

Windows 11 24H2 - Battleye issues
It seems that the later updates for windows 11 are not compatible with the version of battleye for arma 2 OA. Reverting to a previous version of Windows fixes this. But only for a short time until updates are forced.
The game is in an unplayable state with these updates....

In the official forum I answered a user who was asking about the same problem.

Basically there is nothing that can be done until Microsoft decides to fix it, it is a problem for them not for Battleye, in fact it has problems of all kinds and with other anticheats

i installed a second operating system - windows 10, its super easy, you just decide on pc startup which one you want to launch

Just some general advice to everyone:

If you are still playing older games, you should never upgrade to a new operating system.

Ever.(okay, maybe if the game can be played perfectly fine through a VM)

Any update on this?
Schmog The Dog Nov 27, 2024 @ 10:35am
Nope, now effecting my other device I also use for games, pretty much a windows issue. I believe it was the KB released in November for the security or feature update. Had similar issues at work with app deployments.
May require bohemian to raise a ticket with Microsoft, but doubt it will be fixed any time soon... Microsoft aren't know for their speed at responding to tickets...

I would suggest for now, create a VM using VirtualBox. Its a free VM software, I use it for work too...
You can download the ISO for Windows 10 directly off the Microsoft website. Usually quite an easy setup, as long as your device meets the requirements. There are many tutorials online and it will take roughly 30mins - 1 hour to get it fully set up.

I've submitted Feedback to Microsoft about this issue.
Needs upvotes to get their attention.
This should take you to my specific post about it. https://aka.ms/AAtm3oy

Found a way to fix this.

If you have a different battleye games that works (like tarkov, dayz, arma 3) you can just copy the files from the battleye folder and overwrite them (except the belauncher.ini)

that should make it work

- Edit

Had some people from the Endgame origins server try this out aswell, they were able to get it to work after also setting the arma2oa.exe to not always run as admin (properties -> compatability, uncheck run as admin)

I tried what you suggested (downloaded a fresh install of DayZ and launched it once, then copied the files from the BattlEye folder except for belauncher.ini and kept the original ARMA 2:OA belauncher.ini where it was) yet this didn't work for me. I tried deleting all files except belauncher.ini and then copying the files in, and I also tried keeping the original files but replacing the ARMA 2 ones with DayZ ones. Both attempts didn't work. Is there anything I'm missing?

Tried this as well. No luck. Used the Battleye from DayZSA

I tried the same BattlEye (from DayZ:SA) I wonder if that's the issue? I could download A3 to check.

Does not work with ARMA 3 either, I'm doing something wrong or that was a troll post :ujel:
