You downloaded from armaholic before the web went down according to you.

In pack1 there are barely 2 or 3 small mods that you may have downloaded from armaholic, and I say maybe because it is also likely that you will download it from moddb since those mods are published there, the rest of the content of your pack are different versions by Dayz.

Inside pack1 the file called A2MODS.rar is the ACE pack that is published in moddb.com and here I leave the link

Pack4 is the only one that has useful mods.

No need to be antisocial. There is need for people to do this exact sort of thing the more people that are making stuff available the better.

Jerryhopper has some stuff but i went there and could not find anything that i was looking for out of like 10 mods for example. He has some stuff but there is lots of stuff missing and if i could not find 1 thing let alone 10 that i wanted then yeah that means we need more sources lol.

No need to shoot any one down for caring.

so yeah the more people sharing what they have the better.

It is all useful btw if our current sources ever go offline for dayz. Hey it could happen.

there is several github repos for dayz some official and some not but still does not matter regardless. It is a good thing that Anon has taken their time to backup some stuff that they care about.

I also have about 25gbs of Arma 1 mods too. I tried to back up everything I valued in the event something like this happened. I wish I would have downloaded more now. lol

Same yep lol i downloaded lots of stuff last year but deleted it all. Came back later this year to find out that Amaholic is no more.

As we all know Armaholic had stuff that is nowhere else unless people out there still have copies.

Many links on BI forums are either dead or its a pain to sift through the forums in general.

I know what you mean. What was crazy about it is, the day before Armaholic shut down, I was on there looking at Island mods that had jungle veg so I could try to port some of the veg models to DayZ Standalone, for a jungle map I am working on, But the next day the site was offline. I had downloaded some of the last mods for Arma 1 the day before it shutdown. Without knowing it was going down.

Regarding Jerry Hopper, I really don't care at all about him, but if it is true that he is one of those with the largest library of ArmA files, I don't know what mods you looked for and didn't find, surely you looked for dayz and There you will not find much of that, because it is an armaholic mirror, and in armaholic it was only allowed to publish the original mod of dayz.

http://bidentify.jerryhopper.com/ is an armaholic mirror, every person who has files that they download from armaholic can upload them

You download the client, do the search and upload the missing files.

Another way is to upload to moddb.com the files will always be there.

But uploading files to any other place does not make sense, because they simply stay for a while and then they disappear, not to mention that you don't even know what you are downloading, if it will be a good gesture or whatever you want, nobody says otherwise but unfortunately it does not help of much.

example: Arma 2 Mods Pack 3.7z
Size: 3.7 GB | Expires: 27 Days | Uploaded: 24 Oct 2021 | Public

In 27 days the file disappears.
If you publish each of the mods in moddb it will never be erased, there is a big difference, and you also know what you are downloading, I downloaded the 4 files to see what each one of them contained and for example the Arma 2 Mods Pack 2.7z file had several gigabytes decompressed, and also the same information repeated in compressed files, everything that was uploaded, is on the internet and can be downloaded because it is still published, and you do not have to download so many gigabytes, and then see that everything that I publish already this for the download including everything from dayz.

I repeat the best way to help if you really want to help the ArmA2 community is to upload things to moddb or bidentify jerry blah blah.

I prefer more moddb in my opinion I see it more reliable, although the bidentify proposal is interesting because it is a mirror of armaholic.

I think uploading them to Modb is a good choice. I upload them somewhere because I am not the original mod author. However, now with that being said,

I first posted these on YouTube after a few people asked me to do so because they couldn't locate any other mods other then the ones on Modb.

I didn't have to upload them because I already had backups of them.

I was just attempting to help.

Of course it is appreciated that you try to help, also it is not a criticism, it is simply as I mentioned before, unfortunately those links end up being eliminated, but uploading them in moddb they will be there until the day the site dies, if you are not the author, you can upload the mods, simply putting who is the author, when uploading things to moddb you have to specify who is the author of what you upload and who is the uploader, there are many mods uploaded by other people who are not exactly the authors of the mod and that is clarified in the download, it says author xxxx and uploader xxxx

Well when somebody makes an effort and you shut them down with "But you can get X by doing Y already....There is no need to do X when you can go to modDB already and do Y" "only pack X is helpful the rest are not" etc.

When in all reality everything that somebody uploads is useful because Armaholic is the exact signs of the times we are in.

That i have already mentioned in that other thread in that we need to start preserving content that is still out there now.

Then yeah it comes across as antisocial.

Btw Jerry hopper is not a mirror of Armaholic because Armaholic does not exist anymore so there is nothing to mirror.

What Jerry has done is scraped much of the website because he found out that he could still connect to the database previously and combing that with aggregate data that he scraped from wayback machine's archives of Armaholic. Foxhound realized what they were doing and shut it off completely.

Jerry's alternative method to the public which does not really sit well with me is downloading his scanner and letting it scan and cross ref data from your hard drives to his database. Anything it picks up will be uploaded to his database. Without having to debug some arbitrary program i don't really feel comfortable allowing something of this nature to work on my computer.
