Oh God... very sad to hear this... now we need a way or a new place where to download mods.
And as IceBreakr mentioned in his tweet, apparently those "a$$holes" immediately bought the domain for their online betting...
R.I.P. Armaholic!
And I'm somewhat inclined to agree with him, pay attention to Armaholic tweet: "When anyone is interested to continue the website and wants to have the database please send inquiries and offers to info@joocoo.nl", so it's turns out it's all about the money after all. Also pay attention on the fact that the domain has been immediately sold, without waiting, without any delay (apart of the fact they didn't inform/warn about the upcoming shutdown), so as IceBreakr (I believe everyone knows who he is) wrote: "Domain is gone so no point of getting the entire package now :/"... and he's right - they sold the domain and now offers only the database that does not even belong to them and it's not very useful without the well known name (almost a trademark like armaholic)...
On the other hand, as you say, it is true, the sale of the domain is incredible, something instantaneous, and redirects to a virtual casino.
maybe they offered him good money for the domain and sold it...
Imagine if same happens with Dropbox - they shut down and later announce that they accept offers for the database... there wouldn't be big difference...
But I would like to believe that what he wants to do is charge for the hardware on which those terabytes of information are stored. On the other hand if he wants to charge for the content as you say it is not correct / honest.
Not going to lie, I had been preparing for this event the past year and saved up a lot of legacy mods. Was always paranoid this day was going to come.
Reminds me of this Bible quote XD
"For you yourselves are fully aware that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night." 1 Thessalonians 5:2

I might create a Discord server to try and get more players, but for this version you require the ARMA DVD and content.
