Uplay
i have recently bought and downloaded zombi off steam of course to play zombi i must use Uplay but i downloaded the app and got an acount but when i try to login it comes up with "A Ubisoft service is not available at the moment. You can try again later or switch to offline mode." know i did what it asked repeatedly for 5 days and does not seem to change anytime soon. I have tried offline mode but the app then says when i try to launch the game "go online to activate this game" that puts me in an infinte loop.

I need help is ther anyone who can help me?

i have better hardware and software for what the requirements ask for and my connection is great i even tryed with a direct cable to our internet and have given many attempts to trying to fix the problem but nothing has got me any further.

My questions again are:
Most importantly how to fix this problem?
Why does this problem happen alot with Uplay for everyone?
And lastly why sell a game to many cannot access?

It is commonly known that Uplay is a train wreck. The only people not knowing this are Uplay. But is something we have to put up with sometimes to play a game.

Have you tried leaving your uplay app running and booting the game from Steam?

5 days? You may wanna get a refund ASAP.

Though, i'm guessing even though you can't get the game working, it still says you've played for over 2 hours since the uplay launcher counts toward the game time played.

Uplay a train wreck? I use Uplay since a long time and never had a problem with it. ZOMBI runs without problems, apart from the lack of graphic options, missing multiplayer, etc.

Have you checked your Firewall / Antivirus? Maybe they are blocking parts of Uplay or something?

Uplay is not a train wreck. Its just FUBAR. Today I could not play for several hours because the Uplay was down to me. "Uplay is not available, please try again later" Cant even play in offline modes any of their connected games. I had the same issues before with FarCry's. BUT. Once the servers or the hamsters get back in the wheels I have no problems. This third party requirement in general is crap. But its deal with it or not play the game you want.

Issue fixed now, via an actual phone call to Ubi. Seems the STEAM install does not update the Uplay. A simple update install of the Uplay has fixed all the issues like not connecting for me now. Apparently your install will work fine for a bit, then it gets weird... The update is available at : http://static3.cdn.ubi.com/orbit/launcher_installer/UplayInstaller.exe and you can copy your saves first then drop them back in. I dont advise everyone to do this, but if your unable to launch or continue to play in any mode because of connection or unable to synch messages it fixes.

Removing Uplay (you have the option to keep your saves when you uninstall) and then doing a clean install worked

Hello Intack! Sturmkoenig2k and Jeorg Ersteman both have the right idea of it.

The first thing I suggest you do is what Jeorg suggested, with uninstalling your current version of Uplay and installing from that link. Sometimes Steam installs an older version of Uplay that does not have the current updates, which can cause issues when connecting to our servers.

If a clean install of Uplay offer the same 'uplay servers unavailable' message, please follow the troubleshooting on this FAQ on our support site[support.ubi.com]. Thanks.
