I understand that Russia has made it very difficult to speak up, resist, or even leave the country, but many Russian citizens have done so anyway, and it would be an insult to their bravery and sacrifice if we gave people who haven't done the same a pass.
If people are stuck in Russia, hopefully they are still speaking up in private to their friends and family, or perhaps anonymously on the internet. Hopefully they are resisting in their own quiet ways. Because if they don't, they are complicit in their government's criminal acts, just like many Germans who turned a blind eye to the Nazis were complicit in those crimes.
Because "the only thing it takes for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing."
I don't know what's going on between you and @Wynters. I can't see what he said, and it's possible he is being unreasonable.
I agree with you that being Russian does not make one a terrorist, and that supporting a Russian genocide would make us just as bad as the invaders and occupiers.
But I would like to address the statement "Russian users on Steam has nothing to do with supporting genocide" in isolation. Hopefully I'm not taking this sentence out of context too much.
