God, fighting mechanics in this game are sh**!
I'm getting attacked from all directions at once, my attacks are going right through enemies when they're not even evading, you can almost never tell when an enemy is going to hit, hitboxes are awful too. Unfair and unbalanced af! :steamsalty::steamsalty::steamsalty:

What is this, "Shi**y Games Lovers" club? Stalker, Bound by Flame, Mars: War Logs... Those games suck!
They're not completely awful but I don't really understand people who praise them.
Just leave...

Its kinda sad, because i like debating about games, but understanding that objectivity cannot be attained, takes the fun away from it.
So true... and sad...
Deep.

It's my thread, so you leave, lol ))

Well...Dark Souls is objectively a good game, but I don't like the series. You specifically faulted the fighting in Technomancer, which is probably the best part of it. The setting is pretty good even if the story doesn't really do it justice. But really, you've changed your mind on things too many times it's impossible you're ever going to be wrong.

>These games are bad
>No they aren't, this one is good for example
>Well I didn't really mean that game

So I'll just jump the gun and say yes, Technomancer could be improved, and I personally enjoyed it. Beyond that you're just gonna argue and retreat and shift goal posts until you're right.

I never changed my mind, those games are bad imho, but I understand that some people might like them. I just respect other people's opinions and agree with them to some extent. Like, I have no idea why you would like Technomancer's unpolished and clunky fighting mechanics and not enjoy Dark Souls with its much more refined combat system. But hey, it's cool if you like bad games. Just kidding. You see, I'm not going to call them bad because I wouldn't want to offend anyone... But they are bad, you know what I mean))

Then if you think something is bad just stay away and don't make childish posts whining.
By the way, you don't own Steam... you're not even a moderator here so you can't do anything, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. ^^

The combat in Dark Souls is the very definition of clunky. The combat in Technomancer is anything but clunky.
Liking or disliking a combat system in a game is purely subjective, but when it comes to specific well defined terms like "clunky", its no longer a subjective matter.
Its easy to notice how this term "clunky" has been thrown around with impunity lately, to describe any combat system that we dont like.
Strongly suggest you look up the definition of the term "clunky" and see for yourself how perfectly it applies to the combat in Dark Souls.
Thats not saying that the combat in Dark Souls is bad because its clunky, or the combat in Technomancer is good because its not clunky.
Just trying to point out how this "clunky" term is being misused.

Clunky: clumsy in style, form, or execution. Which is a perfect description of the combat mechanics in Technomancer. I don't get it, are we talking about the same game, lol?

Neither of them are clunky. Dark Souls has a slow kind of combat style (In that you have to commit to actions and complete them before performing the next action). Technomancer by comparison queues actions one after another the same as Dark Souls, except for dodge which can interrupt other actions. I didn't like how the game slows down a little when you perform a critical or a critical dodge, and I don't like how the attacks are a bit contextual (sometimes an attack will make you jump forward and sometimes it won't: Seems to be linked to whether your last attack was swung from left to right or right to left). I don't see how you can say the controls aren't responsive though. They are slightly more responsive than Dark Souls, but only because Dark Souls is designed to not be responsive in certain situations.

But now I'm gonna unsubscribe to this thread. Forgot to before. Because your last response directed at me ended with a back and forward about bad games that no one should have to read. What was the point of it? You basically went from your subjective assessment to a withdrawal of that, to a j/k, to a backhanded apology and humble brag, to a repeat of the initial statement. Thank you for taking me on the journey with you.

Exactly, the point of that was that there is no point in it, I'm just f***ing around, having a little laugh because this whole thread is pointless, don't know why y'all necroed it, and all we can do is talk about things that don't matter. But there's nothing bad about that, is there? Anyways...

That's why I played the Guardian (the stance with the shield). By the end I'm super immune against interruption and I'm myself interrupting every enemy. So I just keep hitting the attack button. The berserker skill and also the magnetic shield are supplementing this.
This was just the right fighting style for me. Occassional blocking. And that's that.

I thought Rogue or Warrior stance were much more difficult so I didnt enjoy them.

Whoot? It's actually one of the best combat mechanics I have seen, probably too hard for today's casual gamers? :P
Pumplymooze Oct 24, 2017 @ 3:01pm
I played all Gothic and Dark Souls games. Clunky or difficult mechanics can still be fun, but believe me, fighting mechanics in this game, and all other Spiders' rpgs, are sh**.

Combat is fine here. Sure, could use some tightening up as could normal movement. Overall the combat works well. Honestly after fighting several bandits I don't get why people were saying it was difficult. If you know what you are doing taking on multiple enemies is not that bad.

Git Gud as the kids say.heh

you think this game is bad I've been doing research on Elex deciding if I want it or not. combat there is clunky, you auto target 1 infront of you and when it falls auto switches but you do not turn to face this new target, so if you keep slashing you do it in the wrong direction. then there is the simple drops, very little height that causes you to loose health if you don't jumpjet just right....seriously? at least in this game you can swap up weapons without standing still.

I played the first three Gothic games and liked them all, even though combat there is clunky as hell. Fighting mechanics in Elex can't be worse than they were in Gothic, or can they?
