One simple question... is it worth it?

pro critics bashing this game but i bought games with average reviews before and enjoy them a lot. So I would like to know what normal common folks think. Should i buy it?

no. It's a spider studios game and i still feel burned about buying of orcs and men even though i got it for 75% off. Spider Studio games are just terrible. I implore you to never buy any of their games.

The game is easily worth the price. But nobody can tell you if it's something you'd like.

The combat really isn't that good, but the story, setting, and characters are all surprisingly solid (as are the art and music). I have no problems recommending it.

well worth the price you wont be disappointed,i bought on release and enjoyed it very much.this game was the victim of a witch hunt.true it was released way to earlyand i understand the reviews for optimization but as far as everything else it was cheap fabrication .the reviewers were just looking for hits on theyre websites.

played back on ps4 and no, its not worth the price. game is boring and lifeless, the low budget feel crawls through every space of the game's universe. i woud buy it for 5 bucks no more. story is bland characters suck VOICE ACTING IS TERRRIIIBLEE, just avoid this one, combat is decent but repetitive as hell

Actually having the same kind of question, but i think i'm gonna buy it anyway. I liked Bound by Flame, which is also from them. A bit stiffy controls and the beginning is a bit difficult, but overall a nice game.
I also have Faery: Legends of Avalon, which is another Spiders title.
It can't be worser then Sacred 3, which is a demonstration of how you can destroy a franchise.

If i look to this game it reminds me to Borderlands, but then minus the cartoony graphics. It looks even almost like Pandora if i look to those vids.

if you liked bound by flame you'll enjoy this, it's an evolution of the combat style (which i personally rather enjoy) and while it still has the Spiders clumsiness isn't as weird or stilted in quite so many ways as BBF. it's great for what it is, has a lot of heart.

The combat is a strange beast, has similarities to Dark Souls where you really have to pay attention to the telegraphs and react *fast* to avoid taking heavy amounts of damage. I picked up the game yesterday, having enjoyed Mars War Logs, and I'm playing on extreme difficulty and enjoying the challenge. Ofc mileage may vary for other tastes and people.

I've only played a few hours so far, so it's hard to give a real recommendation, but from what I've experienced so far, I'd say it's definitely worth getting. I like all their games, and this one feels like a solid entry. The game is downright beautiful, and the animations are well done. The game really shines with combat. Voice acting is really, really good. The dialogues are always interesting, and there's just a lot to like there.

So so far, I'd say yeah it's really worth the asking price. Especially at this current discount, I'd say it's a no-brainer.

Well, i have bought the game, since it got a discount as well. I agree that it ain't worth the full price, but a discount of 70% is worth to buy it.
The game is limited, to start with. You play with a fixed character, a certain zacharias. There is no choice in gender, you will play as a male. That's different then Bound by Flame, where you do have a choice. First thing to what i had when i got my first mission was; i'm back on pandora. Dunno if Gearbox agreed with that their game is used to create an other game. It's not very original. Controls are good and the camera works good too. The running/walking feels solid, not as stiff as bound by flame. The game is definitely better then faillures like sacred 3 and bloodknights. Voice acting is ok, but it is sometimes as it's on the background. Missions so far are straight forward. It's a linear game. Graphics are nice. From what i've seen so far it's a decent game. Not particular good, but not bad either.

It is fun, although it has bad voice acting and a terrible map system. But I am enjoying it. Give a few hours and once you start upgrading your character/weapons it gets better. Has a very cool (IMO) 90's sci-fi b movie feel to it. Which I think is its charm.

What? The voice acting in this game is fantastic. Better than 99% of anything out there. I've yet to hear anything amiss. They don't skip a beat, and every dialogue is well crafted. Plus, the voicer actor lines are generally good with no awkward pauses or otherwise. The quality is very high overall.

I'd tell you to go and watch some youtube clips. The other guy is just dead wrong, and it's easily provable.
