Devlog - Studio Mode and New Beginnings

Happy New Year, everyone! 🎉

It’s been a month since Block Block Block launched its Steam page, and I’m incredible grateful for all the support so far. Development has been moving forward steadily—though as always, for every bug fixed, a few new ones seem to sneak in!

This past month, I’ve been focused on a new feature I’m excited to share: the Studio Section.

Introducing Studio Mode

The Studio Section lets you set up camera parameters to capture your dioramas in style. With a clean and intuitive UI designed to feel like operating a real camera lens, you can:

Adjust angles, zoom, and other things effortlessly.

Snap pictures of your creations with a single button.

Once you’ve captured your masterpiece, head to the Gallery, where you can manage your photos and relive your favorite builds.

New Items!

In addition to Studio Mode, I’ve also added some brand-new items for you to stack, customize, and decorate with.

The Beginning of Block Block Block

Hello world! I’m Aender Lara, a game developer originally from Venezuela, now living in Uruguay. Today, I’m excited o share a first look at my passion project, Block Block Block! This cozy builder game has been crafted in my free time over the past few years, and it’s been an incredible journey bringing it to life.

About the Game

Block Block Block is a game where you stack wooden blocks to create dioramas—anything from outdoor scenes to intricate interiors. Inspired by playing with my son’s wooden toys and the desire to create something intuitive for illustrators and decorators, the game is all about creativity, relaxation, and the joy of building without limits.

The Team

While I’ve been developing the game mostly solo, I’ve had invaluable help from two amazing collaborators:

Nathasha Padron (@muakata[links.muakata.com] on social media), who has contributed her artistic talents to shape the game’s charming visuals.

Gustavo Lara, who’s working on the music to give Block Bloc Block its warm, soothing vibe.

What’s Left To Do?

We’re getting closer to the 1.0 release, but there’s still work to be done! Here’s what we’re focusing on:

Adding a few more features to enhance the building experience.
Expanding the library of items to give you even more creative options.
Polishing every corner of the game to make it feel just right.

In Block Block Block, you can:

Build your dream scenes with multiple customizable spaces.
Stack and arrange blocks with realistic interactions that feel like real-life wooden toys.
Move, rotate, and scale items, or even reshape and repaint them.
Create both cozy interiors and imaginative outdoor landscapes.
