Villain music!
So, I found that by going through the villains' entries in the Multiverse menu, there's some really cool villain theme music. Unfortunately, when you're fighting the villain, you only get the environment's music.

Anyone else think it would be really cool if there was an option to listen to the villain's music while fighting them instead of the environment's?

I was JUST noticing the villain music myself, and came to the forum to see if anyone else had noticed this.

So yeah, it'd be nice.

That music used to only play when you lost to that villain, so I really appreciate them making it so you can hear it much easier with this patch.

The villain tracks are very short. I don't think you really want that looping for 30 minutes =)

I'm better prepared to listen to Matriarch's track looping than some of the environments. :p

Out of curiosity, which tracks do you guys like most/least and why? May help me to better craft the tracks.

The Matriarch's one is among my favourites too, along with the main theme.
You should consider doing some extended versions too, if you do, I might be convinced to also buy volume 2 at full price.

My absolute favourites are Citizen Dawn and Warlord Voss - they're big bad and bombastic, and perfectly fit the theme of pulp OTT villains which forms so much of SotM's appeal. Plus they're totally metal ;)

Least favourite would be Ambuscade. It is a little bland and lacks a killer hook.

As mentioned, the villain tracks are too short to replace the environment music BUT how about if they faded in for a short time when the villains flipped? Would really ratchet up the tension and sense of dread.

The Chairman's music is awesome. It sounds like exactly the kind of music that would be playing in a darkened boardroom where he's either giving the orders to his underbosses to mess up some heroes, or when he just takes off his coat and starts beating people down himself in the middle of his boardroom.

I second fading in the villain tracks on their turns or flips. I've turned off the music completely by now since the main theme on the start screen has gotten too repetitive for me, and I've tired of the environment music.
:O Mayhaps it could take turns or something :D or heroes could have songs to and it just cycles through each song for each character in play :3 ?

Rook City, Time Cataclysm, Ruins of Atlantis, Wagner Mars Base are some of the good environment tunes.

The victory theme vs Kaagra is great I think it should be available by default when you win.

Enclave of the Endless is my favourite theme, closely followed by Silver Gulch. When it comes to least liked theme... I don't have any that I'd say are bad, but I'd argue the Megalopolis theme is very forgettable.

As one of the people who asked for something like this first, and having donethe suggestion of "listen to the villain music on your media player" I can attest that theshorter villain themes do get repetative real fast. And it was The Chairman, which is was THE theme i was thinking of when I thought it was a good idea.

Not to say it's not a good idea. I did purposefully prolonged my match for reasons.

=edit=
Just an addition, if you do own the music tracks, might I suggest throwing on Omnitron-IV when fightingeither Omnitron or Dok'Thorah Capital when against Grand Warlord Voss. Dok'Thorah Capital incorporates Voss's theme and Omnitron-IV really feels like the "extended villain track" that would be the way to go for actual gameplay. I don't atually suggest actually doing these deck matchups because in one situation you're fighting effectively 1 and a half Omnitrons and in the other it is possible for you to flat out lose because the environment played one card and then it went to the villain turn.

I like pretty much all the songs other than The Realm of Discord, which is the only song I actively hate. And that is because it is so discordant and unpleasant that it actually gives me a headache. I tend to not want to play it as a result.

I think that's the point that it should be discordant but giving a headache that seems odd.
There are certainly some songs I favor over others with the various songs but they are all pretty awesome in their own way.
