Digital Versus Board game
I just saw a review of the newest addition to Sentinels of the Multiverse Board Game. In the comments I saw they had a steam version and was glad to check out the Demo. Who has both games? As someone who would mainly be playing solo the board game looked like it would be a mess to track damage modifiers without forgetting something each round. Is it that big a deal or are my assumptions correct?
Also, is their anything different from the digital version to the previous board game version?

I did enjoy playing the demo, though I'm not a 100% fan of the user interface.

The board game comes with markers and trackers you can use to keep track of modifiers, though after playing it enough (and less than I expected to need to), it just becomes second nature from round to round. Most effects are immediate or last the round rather than a single followup action, which helps. If you're used to other CCGs, I think it'd be relatively straightforward to pick up, and even if you're not the base game is a pretty gentle introduction.

It's also worth noting that the version of the game that this digital version is based on has been retired and they're working on a "Definitive Edition" of which the Core Set thereof just had its KS fulfilled (so not at retail proper yet).

And that DE version streamlines keeping track of modifiers even further.

So basically, this digital version was a very faithful adaptation of the original version, but the Definitive Edition has more differences. (Still the same game at heart, but enough differences to be notable.)

Also note the Handelabra has expressed interest in making the Definitive Edition digital, but has yet to commit to it. I would recommend the digital version if you're playing solo. It keeps track of everything very nicely and you have access to fan decks in the Workshop as opposed to having to print them/get them printed too. There is a mobile version as well if you'd rather that.

Nice, that's for all the input. I do see if I wanted to get the full card set it's almost $65. Seems pretty expensive for what it is. Is the DLC worth it?

This is a game that only gets better the more DLC you have. Everyone has opinions on which sets are most worth it, but frankly everything has at least one deck you're really going to enjoy having in the game.

Digital is 100% easier to play solo since you can handle playing multiple characters a lot easier with it as opposed to the mess from physical, physical is more for if youre gonna be playing with people.

If you have the physical version I very highly recommend Sentinels Sidekicks. It is a mobile app for 1 dollar that keeps track of health, enemies and things like who has the highest health. It makes playing in person far far better.
