Interesting. I'm fine with art and style changes... a little annoyed at changing the actual card texts and rules. As that basically makes the old game broken, especially after finishing OblivAeon and swearing the game was complete.

But i can definatley see how going back to fix the art and misprints can lead to tweaking things here and there a bit... because you know the original stuff isn't as "strong" as it used to be... and this over here would work better if we did this... etc.

I get it, though, and while this isn't quite a CCG, it doesn't surprise me to see some errata/edition updates. Though this is sooner than I might have expected. Like the faux-'60s four-colour art quite a bit, actually.

I really want to know the difference between both version.

The only one I saw so far 'fixed damage' was welcomed : I didn't like my Legacy to get 4 or 5 damage from it just because he boosted his allies.

The real question I'm asking so soon is ... What will happen with the videogame.
Will we have the new version ?... If so will it coexist or replace the old ?

There's been cards shown on both the LP server and the RoD server, and there's a lot of rules changes from minor to significant.

It'd be up to Handelabra to figure out what they want to do, but I'd say there's enough changes it might have to be an actual full-on DLC.

i think a good solution would be have an in-game option to select old or new cards effects/text/rules

And an DLC to select old or new card art.

that would be good for all players i guess....

The hard part is that there's been a lot of stuff just wholesale changed drastically, including changed keywords and some cards even removed entirely or split into two cards.

There's been some more previews posted here: https://old.reddit.com/r/sentinelsmultiverse/comments/l7g2ls/definitive_edition_cards_posted_on_the_discord/ which show what I mean.

Gotta say, I like a lot of of these changes. I really want to play the revised Fanatic against Omnitron in Atlantis.

This feels...less like it should be DLC and more like it should be a separate release of it's own. A fundamental rework of so many cards and new artwork. I mean...we already paid for THIS product. What if we don't want the one we currently have to change? Maybe if we could switch from one version of the game to another? Hmm.

I could see "Definitive" being another play style, with the toggles for Team and Oblivaeon. Just, y'know, it changes all the decks rather than just the villains.

That said, I expect the proposed compatibility doodad might give us a better idea of how the digital version could implement DE stuff.

Looking forward to backing this on KS day one and hopefully playing it in digital form too. Just hope if/when the definitive edition gets a digital release, they do DLC a little differently. Everyone needing to have the same DLC to use it is literally the only dookie stain on this otherwise perfectly pristine digital port. I've gifted a ton of copies over the years and always get asked why it works that way. :lunar2019crylaughingpig:

When I just thought it was redone art I was happy, then I saw a lot of old style comic art I'm not a fan of... but now that I've learned about all the other changes coming with it I'm actually quite excited. The physical version especially will have a lot of improvements, they go into a lot of detail on the latest podcast episode.
