There are sort of difficulty levels, in that every villain has an Advanced rule and most also have Challenge rules, and then they can be combined for a final Ultimate playstyle.
Also Team Villain play is generally harder than solo villain, and OblivAeon play even harder than both.

(The one oddball out is Bottom of the 9th, which is a competitive game that does have some AI in it.)
Oh, derp me, also forgot to say that each individual villain also has a difficulty level before the other rules are applied, as well as environments having difficulty ratings AND heroes having their own complexity ratings. So the difficulty level is pretty granular.
That sounds pretty great! I'm even more interested on the game now. ^^
I've been watching some gameplays and I can safely tell this is my kind of game! It really is great!
