This game is great.
I just thought I'd mention it.

I'm a complete noob, I've only been playing it for a couple days, but I'm loving almost everything about it.
But aside from obvious things, like theme, music, design, overall gameplay etc., etc., I just wanted to specifically note two things.

First, this is one of the very few games where I really enjoy playing characters I didn't like at first glance. There is just something incredibly satisfying when you figure out some way to work with them and they suddenly become badass. For example, I kinda thought Unity was more or less useless the first few times I played with her in my team. Then I paired her with Omnitron and suddenly she became THE badass of that game. Love moments like this.

Second, random. I love that, outside of luck of the draw, it's kinda minimal. And maybe because the game doesn't rely on it too heavily, even when some random stuff happens, so far it wasn't too frustrating in my experience. And I am usually very easily frustrated by it.
Been playing Pathfinder Adventures some time before and it relies heavily on dice rolls. So even if you have lots of awesome cards, equipment and such you can still roll a f-ton of 1 on your dice. And when you do it feels so unsatisfying...
In sentinels it really feels more balanced. Which, I know, is a dumb thing to say since random is... well... random... and sure, sometimes bad things happen here too... like, for example, I had one match vs Baron Blade where he has drawn 4 Hasten Doom cards in a row and I was sitting there like "OMG, dude, are you done yet? Sure, why not, draw even more, why not have a whole deck full of them!".
But then I'm sitting there, working on that "Kill Citizens Blood, Sweat and Tears in one round" thing and without thinking I decided to use Setback's "discard top card of every deck" thing. And just as I did it I thought "idiot, what am I doing, what if he just discarded one of the citizens I need", so, I'm prepared to press the undo button, but just as I'm about to hit it, I decided to see what he actually discarded... turns out, it was just that tiny little insignificant thing called "Devastating Aurora". And just like that, suddenly I'm the luckiest man alive.
Granted, I still didn't get to kill all citizens, because the next turn Sheriff Pratt of the Silver Gulch came and killed Citizen Dawn who I've been keeping on 1 hp for quite some time... oops... but it was still really satisfying.

So yeah... that's mostly what I'm trying to say here. The game feels really satisfying. No matter if you play heroes you like or not, if you're winning or losing, it just feels good to play it. And it's a feeling not many games manage to convey.

Well said, that's kind of why the fanbase like this game a lot.

I'm glad you like it! :D

And yeah, Unity's thing is being a late-game powerhouse when there's not too much AoE or hit-lowest damage being dealt. :)

Well moreso that you can protect the weaker bots like Raptor Bot to get huge damage. Even in Skinwalker Gloomweaver game I've managed to keep out Raptor Bots all game long and they chomped him down to size quickly.

Welcome to the game new player. It is nice to meet another person who might become as obsessed with this game as some of us are. I enjoy playing play every hero and every villain, some more than others of course but I do enjoy them all.

Recomendation for the "Blood, Sweat and Tears" unlock, Visionary and Fanatic (Dark visionary if you can). Use visionary to stack the deck so your targets are the ones who show up, then obliterate them with Fanatic's end of days.

Thank you =)
I actually have yet to get used to Fanatic. She and Nightmist are probably my least used heroes so far (well, moreso Nightmist than Fanatic), although I'm working on fixing it sometime soon x)
And as for Blood Sweat and Tears - I actually unlocked it the second try. Mostly with Haka making the fight super trivial. The hardest part was not killing Dawn too early :SuitSaber:

Good job. Enjoy Mad Bomber Baron Blade. He's a fun one.

Fanatic and Nightmist are among my favorite heroes. Fanatic has several wonderful Whammy cards, Look at Wrathful Retribution in her deck to see one of the best ones. Nightmist is a weird kind of tank when you set up her relics right.

Nightmist works great with the visionary or Ra.

I'm kinda enjoying her with Argent Adept and/or Tempest who can manipulate her trash right now... it grew on me while I was getting her variant. I will try your suggestion as well.
It's part of what I said about random - I love how non-random this game is and Nightmist kinda breaks this rule. Which, don't get me wrong, is great for variety and all, but it's just not my playstyle. I do like her a bit more now that I've unlocked her variant (although now I find myself with empty hand more often than I'd like), but it's still more of a me fighting against her mechanic rather than working with it. That said I really love that she is practically immortal with the right setup.

Fanatic really grew on me during these few days. Used her a lot while unlocking hers and other heroes variants. Especially loved using End of Days on Akash'bhuta taking about 2/3 of her health with it xD

Fanatic just saved me in what I thought was going to be an easy game vs advanced gloomweaver in mdme mittermeyer's.

The environment got big top early, and then 2 "you won't believe your eyes" so I focused my enviro destruction on the eyes instead, but then it played several unstable midway in a row, and the team was down below 5hp due to the environment alone.

I finally won when I had legacy hit her down to 2 hp so she could use wrathful retribution and barely finish off gloomie. It felt great.

Oh I bet it did. Just another great example of how satisfying this game can be :Ageha:
