Challenge is another difficulty spike, similar to Advanced. The difference is, where Advanced has a different rule for each side of the Villain, the Challenge has one new rule that effects both sides. Ultimate is simply having both the Advanced and Challenge rules in play.

Except for Heroic Infinitor who has different challenge mode text on each side. Though since he goes from attempt at being a hero to villain I feel it's understandable why it's an exception.

True enough. Also, Spite and Gloomweaver's Variants both share a Challenge rule, since the challenge is one fight leading to the other.

A document for the physical card game, containing the Challenge Mode descriptions can be found here:

There's currently 2 Challenge Modes in the video game not listed on the pdf, and those are Chokepoint and Heroic Infinitor.

It's very likely Handelabra have the Challenge Mode of Trickster Kismet and the other 10 Team Villains as well.

Also worth noting Ambuscade's challenge mode has been changed, which isn't reflected in that PDF.

I just read it and now I think I realized why. In the old version of the challenge mode, Ambuscade had the chance of just "the RNG says he wins" with the chance of that happening going higher as he plays more cards that aren't traps, up to 100% when there's only traps+1 card in his deck.

And in the tabletop version, you always have a person manually shuffling the deck, so you could just go "oh look, the shuffling just happened to not have a trap card on top."

This got altered in testing by Christopher as there is a situation that can leave you stuck on the villain turn. Ambuscade couldn't deal damage and he kept cycling Traps and one-shots. I was told it wasn't an infinite loop but after letting cards play for five minutes I wasn't going to wait anymore.

If you get down to five cards in his deck, he'll just cycle Traps until A) you dead, or B) forever because he can't deal damage/you're soaking all the energy with Legacy or something.
