Termi-Nation Absolute Zero Unlock Discussion
Unlock Conditions Found:

In a single non-hero turn, regular Absolute Zero must take over 10 damage, regain over 10 HP, and deal over 10 damage to a single non-hero target (in one shot). These three things can happen in any sequence, but all must occur on the same turn.

A thread should probably be opened for each unlock.

Is that the beta tester hint that each variant has their own unlock specifics? ;)
Because from the lore it could be deducted that you have to have a team of all three. (possibly first having to defeat Deadline with the Freedom Five, then defeat Choke with K.N.Y.F.E, then have the Termi-Nation heroes defeat Chokepoint)

Edit: re-re-named the thread to its original AZ unlock discussion :)

Not a hint. But even with teams released before like Freedom Six, Prime Wardens , and Dark Watch each member still had their own unique unlocks. Technically Termi-nation isn't a team just a specific storyline.

True, but most of the others, even though teams, had their own story info, or not?
Though it makes sense to have three different unlocks, as that gives us more to do :)

I had 15 or so cards of AZ's under Chokepoint. She destroyed a lot, and some wer from Kinetic looter and purposeful destruction from heroes. I was in Freedom Tower. No unlock. AZ finally won it. I had a previous multiplayer game where I was AZ and had lost to Chokepoint - her challenge is actually fairly hard!

Termi-Nation Absolute Zero's Bio:

Originally posted by N/A:

When Ryan Frost stepped into Vance's work bay, he could immediately tell something was bothering the two heroes working there. As opposed to the normally affable tinkering that took place when Vance and Caspit worked together, instead, the two were locked in conversation, both so concerned that they didn't even notice Absolute Zero enter the room. They were preparing to go on a reconnaissance mission to an army base that Vance used to be stationed at - Frost had nothing better to do and invited himself along, figuring he was signing up for a leisurely trip with a couple of friends. Instead, they were handily defeated by a familiar and yet different foe, who now went by the name Chokepoint.

Regrouping at their headquarters, the three heroes developed new tech and tricks to take down this new threat. Absolute Zero knows that his entire suit - the only thing that keeps him alive - is a weapon that is all too easily turned against him by their foe. He still had to have the Modules that allows his suit to operate, but rather than housing them in a metal suit, he covered himself with a thick layer of ice. This amplified his power by putting his cold power out in the open. However, this ice suit also made him more vulnerable to damage more than ever. Knowing that could only be a short-term solution, Absolute Zero is eager to end this fight quickly.

Two bits of unsubstantiated wild speculation:

The phrase "He covered himself with a thick layer of ice." makes me think that it could possibly have something to do with the Glacial Structure card?

Also, Chokepoint's Kinetic Looter card shows her using Absolute Zero's gear as a weapon against Wraith, who tells Chokepoint that she'll regret what she did to Ryan. Maybe AZ's modules have to be destroyed specifically via Kinetic Looter?

There might be a lot to the statement about wanting to end the fight quickly at the end of the bio. Maybe you have to win in under X turns with both modules and Glacial Structure in play?

I have been consistently beating her on turn 4 using Absolute Zero to deal tons of damage, with AA, Parse and SSTachyon giving him extra play. No luck :(

Maybe Chokepoint has to KO A/Z when he has a certain set of Ongoing and/or Equipment cards in play. This is assuming that the unlock involves reenacting how A/Z was defeated by Chokepoint, rather than just replicating his Termi-Nation suit.

I just tried a game where AZ played no equipment, dealt only cold damage, defeated Chokepoint before she flipped, and AZ got the fnal hit. No unlock. :(

  • Like with Bunker, I'm pretty sure this has to take place at Freedom Tower.
  • It sounds like it requires only the three Termi-Nation variant heroes.
  • It also sounds like Chokepoint has to assimilate all of Zero's Equipment, with the possible exception of his Cryo Chamber.
  • Modular Realignment may need to be used to reacquire them after Chokepoint drops them.
  • I would think she would need to flip at one point, then run out of resources and flip back.
  • Zero should probably try to get all of his Ongoings out, but especially Sub-zero Atmosphere and Glacial Structure.
  • He probably has to deal the deathblow, possibly with a combination of Frost-Bound Drain and Coolant Blast.

The combination of everything above is pretty exhaustive, and almost certainly too much, but it's the direction I'm working toward. The only problem is how long it takes to get these stars aligned with just this team of three. I haven't been able to make it through a fight trying to set all this up.

Good luck!

EDIT: With pricyprovinces's post, quite a few of my assumptions are apparently debunked. Awesome!

As a note to all of this Unity has been unlocked on locations other than Freedom Tower
