Weekly One-Shot, May 8: "Big Game"
Went in dreading this one shot and after seeing everyone's starting hands realized it was going to be a cakewalk. Hint: Don't play anything the first round but end of days and it will be a breeze.

Yeah... this was shockingly easy for an advanced Iron Legacy fight. End of Days wrecked his startup, the ranger placed by any means and ultimate target on him fairly early, and in the late game when Lagacy starts redirecting damage, well Chrono ranger can get past that pretty easy.

You don't even need to do use End of Days. The only Ongoing that needs destroyed is Final Evolution so he doesn't heal when powers are used and that can be done by Fanatic at worst. I beat Iron Legacy in this game on Parse's second turn.

Regardless of how you do it this week is way easier than expected for sure. Needed an easy win for a change.

Not gonna lie. I groaned pretty loudly internally :p when I saw advanced Iron. Iron Legacy is one of my least favotire fights as I generally hate rush job kitchen sink fights. Usually the fight is won or lost in a matter of 2~4 turns which completly goes against what I like about sentinels ie taking my time and extracting as much potential out of each character as I can. Because of that I was not too familiar with the matchup but I sure as hell can recognize a good board for End of Days.

As everyone else mentioned the fight was pretty easy. I ultimately decided to try and take Legacy from above 20 to 0 in order to avoid his reverse side. I won on round 4 having massibvely overprepared. I know I was massivley overprepared cause Chrono Ranger took him out on his turn leaving Knife with multiple Primed punches and Battlefield Experience which would never be played. Oooops.

The highlight of the game for me was thinking that I would have to Sacrifice Parse only to have Con's bunker pop allowing her to survive with 1 hp at the end.
I sadly lose my Mint streak and just got a Near Mint on this one.

I think the reason I lost the first round was because I made him flip early and was trying to make him flip back before going all out on him. In reality, I probably just have just attacked him anyways.
Second try went much better. I kept him from flipping and went all out on him in either the 3rd or 4th round, winning on Parse's turn with her base power taking him out when he had exactly 2 HP left on him.

I really liked this one. I was sure I'd lost my mint when I accidentally played the wrong fanatic card round 1. But still managed to pull it out despite one or two tricky situations.

This was easier than I thought it would be. I screwed up a little bit in the beggining (accidentally End of Days'd away Jim's Hat, Battlefield Experience, an KNYFE's shield (forget what it's called)), and ended up fliping him. Basically just ended up realizing hitting him flipped was pointless, so I loaded Chrono and KNYFE for bear, let him re-flip (sacrificing Parse in the process after Segmentation Fualting away Armored Fortitude), then blew him away.

I minted this prior to coming here. Bad Horse has the right of it with his hint. It is nowhere near as scary as it first appears.

Like Powerhound said, if you don't End of Days, you can beat him on round 2, though it took me until Fanatic's second turn.

I went back again after having already won while using End of Days and tried doing it without playing End of Days, but it was way longer than two rounds in order to beat him. Even so, I did survive with the heroes at the following HP:
Chrono-Ranger: 7
Rogue Knyfe: 5
Parse: 4
Fanatic: 6
If I'm gonna be honest, I feel like End of Days makes it a whole lot easier, since it gets all of the Ongoings out of the way. Also, best not to play any Equipment until 2nd or 3rd round, due to Flying Assult.

Minted. Also used End of Days.

Round 1 was a lot of skip-skip-draw 2 since no one wanted to play cards or use powers. Fanatic plays EoD.

Round 2 - Chrono plays his hat and By any Means and deals some damage. Knyfe plays and uses battlefield tactics(experience?) and then played the servomotor arm. Parse plays critical multiplier (don't think it ever got used sadly) and deals some damage. IL is now at 21 hp and I take a moment to think. Was about to blindly play absolution and hit IL with it, but decide to hit an environment instead to delay his flipping. Face palmed when the skunk ape appeared (oh no! he's going to deal 1 damage to IL ruining my plans) then breathed a sigh of relief because I forgot IL was immune to the environment on the front side.

Round 3 - Parse isn't looking well at 3hp. IL played Armored Fortitude (-1 damage). Chrono plays Ultimate Target on IL and Kill on Sight on an environment target. Knyfe plays an uppercut and uses her servo-arm to destroy the environment target with kill on sight on it allowing her to get rid of IL's ongoing. Parse plays (card title) letting Chrono reveal the top 2 cards of his deck, eye on the prize and just doing my job. Chrono plays Eye which lets him play 2 more Eyes that were in his hand. One of which drew Terrible Tech Strike that when played finished off IL. Just doing my job never had a chance to get played. Fanatic didn't get a third turn. Heck, didn't even get to Parse's 3rd turn power phase.

Mint, with KNYFE and Parse Incapacitated and the others in single digits. Once Iron Legacy flipped, Chrono-Ranger was able to consitently deal damage multiple times during his turn, and Fanatic's Dauntless was able to block the damage that was redirected at her from CR's first attack.

Didn't play End of Days - just plinked out the defences and then multi-attacked through reflects when he flipped

Well i had legacy dead on the punching girls third turn.
Chrono wouldve been able to instant kill legacy on his turn if legacy hadnt played the damage reduction card. I used punch brils power on chrono on round 2 at that give him the hunt the hunted card (the one that increases the damage he deals and takes). So both his cantrips dealt 5 damage then search for random bounty for 6 damage then shoot him for another 6 leaving legacy on 3 hp

You can ping him through the redirect pretty easily. You have lots of people that can do multiple effects. Chrono ranger's +1 dmg and I chained his effects. I accidentally flipped him and thought I was doomed.
