Just bought A criminal past and System Rift and can't play either.
I go into Jensen's Stories and see them both, system rift is still egging me to purchase it, Criminal past is stick in a status it can only describe to me as UNKNOWN. Any thoughts?

Do a file revalidation for the game. I had the same issue, newly-purchased DLC sends the purchase data to the game, but the files are not downloaded. A revalidation will force Steam to get the files.

Tried that. Now both system and criminal are giving me the "UNKOWN" status.

Oboy. If an uninstallation+reinstallation combo does not fix it, then you need to contact Steam support and express in a very clear and form way that it is their client that does not want to download the stuff. It is important because their gut reaction is always to send people to the publisher's support and quickly close down the ticket.

Odd fix: Turns out the game refused to initiate downloads while I had another game open, when I had another game open it would act as if there was nothing to install in the first place. Long story short, I literally NEED to keep something 3d running the background of my computer, otherwise my graphics card will shut down. Rock on.

That is default Steam behaviour and you need to manually enable download while playing. They implemented it because too many CS:GO players accused the Steam servers of being bad when they were just downloading the daily patch of PayDay 2 while playing and their cheap computers did not manage to handle the simultaneous read-write operation.

I'm well appraised of that fact. The strange thing in this case is that deus ex would tell steam there was no need for any update when my game was running, no matter what I tried.

Uninstalling and reinstalling all files worked for me... like complerely redownloading everything. Good luck man.
