Big Network - Quick Success
Here's my successful Big Network setup. Since I search for and found good to here, I thought I would add my version, too. I'm sure this is only a slight variation of others, but I like seeing different suggestions from you all.

Success on 210.25 AE
Turn 224

Map seed: st-v01-40-2-131634688

Faction: Moklumnue

Contact: (A) in order below is what I used, but I only interacted with the spice trader.

• spice trader, academy doctor, politician, prince, military commander, starport mechanic, merchant, fixer.

Ship: (B) Aeternum Vindex

Experience: (C) Merchant

Skills: (D) – 4 Negotiate

Attributes: (E)
• 16 charisma & 15 wisdom, 8 everything else

Captain adds diplomat job, all officers add merchant, buy two merchant crew. Merchant job holders grab market confidant. Captain and 2 others take friendly banter. Grab friendly banter as soon as you can.
Make two mission runs for the spice trader contact, purchase trade permit 1, buy full load of raw spice at C+ price from refinery planet Kiltrox Peak, sell it to population planets, $5,400 each trade, move from planet to planet selling over $5k and collecting contacts. Spice and collect contacts. Peacefully resolve any ship encounters you catch.

You will discover contacts quickly taking over $5k and spicing.

Good luck and thanks for everyone's posts!
I love the game.
I love the updates.
I love being able to read all of your advice.

Critiques welcome.

Since you're doing this with a specific map seed, and referencing a specific world, you should tell which faction you played. It will affect the starting area. Also, a higher charisma for your captain (and maybe swapping out merchant recruits and officers to get everyone at higher charisma) will make those Market Confidant rolls more efficient.

I knew I was forgetting something...
Thank you.

I definitely see your point about maximizing the charisma. I didn't want to go so full blast that I didn't have any ability to avoid deep space travel issues. That may be foolish. I may not have done myself any good. Someone more knowledgeable than me might say, "That's not how wisdom works."

I've never done this achievement yet lol I guess 1 day I will maybe.

Ship doesn't really matter does it? You could drop down to a Juror or Scout Cutter. And make it D or E. Which allows you to raise skills. Absolutely want 30 charisma for a speedy achievement.

That's 40% chance to fire for your captain.

If you are using unlocks in the guide there are 3 unlock-able contacts that have introductions too.Prospector, fdf commander and doctor.

Ran into this on random. Thanks for the guide.

It feels like this is the best setup

a) Contacts Spice Trader and a ton of random contacts
b) Ship. The very first one with the freighter and tons of cargo space. You get 20% remainder as starting cash so dont even bother doing missions. I guess you can meet the prince with the arbiter though.
c) Experience so you can give all your officers Merchant immediately.
d) Attributes Charisma
e) Skills Negotiate

With the starter money you can buy two trade ranks and two merchants immediately.

Also play on Manual talents and don't give anyone talents except merchant ones. Now you can piss off people enough from bumping into space rocks and a doctor that gives no healthcare. In fact, you probably don't even need to buy sell anything. Just piss off everyone on your ship and then go to the spice hall.

Alright. I ended up just writing a guide.

Fastest way of doing this was to start as a diplomat. Have tons of starting cash by going B)ship Juror. Buy up introductions and then spam spice halls while traveling fuelless without a crew.

You need to fire everyone except your officers so the spice doesn't run out so quickly.

I did one run and made it in 11 weeks.
