Inventory Crash Solution

Hey there, Margaret here, beta tester for Blue Acolyte.

There is currently a player force-injecting illegal items into people's inventories, causing the game to crash.

First, I would recommend anyone reading this install the "Blue Acolyte" mod off of the Nexus page, or the github fork. I will provide a link to the Nexus page at the end of this post.

MAKE SURE YOU ARE OFFLINE BEFORE FOLLOWING THIS GUIDE. This can be done by navigating to the top left of the steam client, clicking "Steam" > "GO OFFLINE". To go back online, simply repeat these steps.

It appears that the only way to remove these items currently is to use the public Cheat Engine table, which can be acquired from the Dark Souls community Discord, which I will also link at the end of this post. Make sure you have the current build of Cheat Engine installed (version 7.4 as of 4/12/2024). To remove the items, launch Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin, and load the affected character. Next, open the Cheat Engine table(DS2_SotFS_Bob_Edition.CT), and it will automatically link to your active instance of Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin. In the lower section, click "Open - Table v4.7.4" > "Scripts" > "Misc" > "+14 Crash Protection". Once this is enabled, this will prevent the game from crashing due to the +14 Bleed Daggers in your inventory. From here, you should now be able to go in and remove them. To hasten the process, select one of the items, and hit "Discard Selected", and you can mass select the items to be discarded.

I followed the steps that you posted, and I was able to successfully edit a save file to remove these cursed items. It only took me a few minutes to install CE, download the relevant table, and activate the script. I was able to delete all these items, and my game can still be played online with no bans.

Thank you for making this post. You've saved a file with nearly fifty hours of play time, and I am extremely grateful for your help.

Hi Margaret, I just got invaded by a player named "ENN" (or at least I think that was the name) last night. I immediately got insta-killed without even seeing the phantom in the game. Now I have about 1200 poison binoculars +14 in my inventory. I tried selling these to Gavlan to get rid of them, but the game crashed after selling about 10 of them. Now, I am trying your above fixes. Thanks for all your help with this issue!

Hey, Margaret! This post has been helpful but I'm still running into an issue.

CE worked to stop my game from crashing when I opened the inventory, but I think I selected one of them trying to delete it. My game crashed again, but now it wont even load my file without crashing. Any suggestions??

I was invaded by this player too. Only difference was that their name was "ANN". Invaded me as soon as I reached Shrine of Amana. Insta-kill, broke all my equipment, but they failed to inject my character with items. (Not sure how they fumbled it, but I did have Blue Acolyte active at the time.)

When I repaired my gear and resumed my journey through Amana, I noticed that they had dropped a bag of loot on the ground at their presumed spawn point. Naturally, I avoided it like the damn plague.

I have this haunting feeling that I must've been extremely lucky, or Blue Acolyte managed to block the cheater's attempt to crash my inventory.

Some a hole named "waytoomanyfeels" invaded my world after I defeated Mirrah and he gave me 14+ black swords, broke my armor, and killed me. Now my game crashes whenever I open up inventory and I can't sell anything without it crashing on me.
