That breathing in Elyum Loyce

Does it ever stop!? I kept thinking it was the White Covetous Demon but man, was I wrong...

Dude there's no breathing in Eleum Loyce. Are you sure it's coming from Dark Souls 2?

Yes, the basement of the castle. Around the third bonfire and fifth bonfire you can hear it. Atleast I think it's a breathing sound, of a monster to be precise. Stupidly loud around the third bonfire but I have no idea where it comes from or how to stop it.

There's definitely something WRONG. I've played DS2 and SOTFS on pc and ps4, i watched some video guides of that part i never heard it.

edit: just asked a friend and checked it by myself: you're not supposed to hear any "breathing" here.

Nope, I hear the sound in this youtube vid as well. It's not a sound produced by the player or enemies in the area for as far as I know.

It is especially loud near the sorceres and the shielded knight.

I'm started to be intrigued too, maybe it's like the heartbeat in Black gulch. I'll investigate tomorrow. Eleum Loyce is always a nice place to visit and farm.

It is. I'm currently guessing it's the Old Chaos, seeing it's below the castle and how you jump in a hole to get there in the first place.

Did you talked to Alsanna? If yes, that means she unfreezed the Old Chaos and it would indeed be the one who breathe. Interesting theory.

yeah, already beat the burnt ivory king too! Ever since I first got to the third bonfire I've heard it and I kept thinking it was the covetous demon for some reason since I didn't find/beat it yet. But it persisted after finding and beating it and since the pulsing breathing sound is somewhat reminiscient of the hellish sounds in the Old Chaos....

As said above, it is the Rampart Golems, the guys with the large lances that they can throw at you. There is one upstairs above the third bonfire and one right outside the door to the fifth bonfire.
