How to go in offline mode?
I want to fight Rhoy the Explorer for the awestones but I read he can only spawn in offline mode, and when I turn steam offline it kicks me back to the main title screen and says "Cannot connect to steam" and I try and go back but it kicks me back again.

I assume you just switch steam in offline mode then start game
I do it in the main screen tho, just disconnect wi-fi for 10 seconds

while in the game, you turn your wifi(press the button/unplug the cable...) off. it wil then display a message saying something like "lost connection to steam. switching to offline mode".

after that switch internet back on. voila, game in offline mode and steam online again. best of both worlds.

The easiest way is to make a rule in Windows Firewall. Here is how to do it step by step:

http://gaming.stackexchange.com/a/165915

In addition, you can easily right-click the created rule and enable/disable it anytime you want to switch back online/offline.

This method is the easiest and the least annoying of all other options in my opinion.

Enjoy!

I just did that and got the confirmation hat I was in offline mode. In tthe top left corner it said in red colorful text "offline mode". I get into the game and get invaded by the same player and he kills me.

DS3 has an "offline mode" option in-game. For some reason, 2 is the only one that doesn't.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
