Moon Butterfly in Shrine of Amana
I'm mainly playing on PS4, but I just reached Rise of the Dead after Demon of Song, and there on a ledge I found an enemy (hidden) that looked like a live version of the Moon butterfly-set that you can get. I killed it, and it dropped something, but I fell to my death since I couldn't get back from the ledge. Afterwards the item weren't there anymore, and the enemy didn't respawn.

What did I miss? I can't find anything on this on either of the wikis...

They only drop lifegems.

Haha okay, in my hundreds of hours on the original version on PS3 and PC I never once saw them. Are there any more locations where they appear?

There's one in Lost Bastille above the Servants' Quarters bonfire. There's also one in Gutter, one in the corridor before Velstadt, and other places that I've forgotten.

They were added in Scholar edition and do not seem to have any signifigance, much like the new invisible hollows.

Ive gotten life gems, amber herbs, pearls and a few other things from them

One must wonder if something will happen when you shot them all down.
Same with those invisible holows.

But how can you know you found them all? We may never know....
