Why are shields so bad?
Why does an NPC invader literally punch with his fist, the shield away from me, which for some reason stuns me as if i just got a lightning spear in the ♥♥♥♥?

Why can i withstand apocalypse with a 13 foot long mace but when forlorn ♥♥♥♥♥♥ comes all he needs is his fist and a whip to pull the shield out of my hands, or tickle my anus thru my havel armor and make me take 99.9999% of my HP to bleed.

Why does From hate everyone who wears armor and uses a shield. I dont want to play Dodge Souls 2. I just wan 2 b havel.

Why can't i just be havel?

NPC didn't punch you, they did "guard break", just in case you misunderstood.

Shields and heavy armor are not nippon......thats western culture rubbish!

how do i win he just keeps punching my shield away then hits me when i lean back and admire the ceiling for 5 seconds.

also why can a skinny little ♥♥♥♥ break my guard. i have 70 str and my shield is literally a piece of mountain. what exactly is he doing when he swipes at it to make it fly away from my body.

You must learn to circle your opponents, when they do guard break, they will animation locked for couple sec, leave an open for you to strike at them.

If you keep shielding, sure you will be safe but there counter for this, you just let them exploited this.

Movements and footsteps is everything.

so some gaylord named sindrel just invaded me, all he did was punch my shield out of the way and then stab me in the chest

i thought DS was supposed to have good pvp?

Haha you got guard broken like a noob. I love doing this 10x to the people I invade and they think I'm a hacker or something since they don't know the game's mechanics yet.

Use your shield to block when you need to block. Don't hold it up 24/7 like an idiot, guard break exists to punish that bad habit.

i also just lost 30k soulds to a regular stone guard in the castle, the one with a shield and a pike. apparently he raises his little round shield above his head while poking me, and that is enough to stop a 2h overhead smash from a smelter hammer.

i dont really get it though, i had to block because he was just spamming his ♥♥♥♥ dagger at me. i understand the mechanics, i just dont understand why they are in place. all it does it completely favor fast glass cannons over everyone else.

i am slow, i use a slow weapon, i can't just spam ♥♥♥♥ attacks like wolverine and wait for them to block just to do some gay krillen punch and have my 500lb shield fly out of my hand.

the pvp is pretty bad

now i lost all my souls, i was just trying to have fun and pve. I hate that From forces these tryhard scrubs down your throat. These ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ can go duel if they want to pvp, i dont see why they have to try and ruin my fun and then taunt and act like a badass after.

Half of them use hacks anyways, its not like there is any ounce of skill in this game. I wish there was an offline mode.

Because if you couldn't guardbreak shields would be extremely overpowered, and everybody would be using them, and fights would take forever.

ya i don't want to pvp, i dont want to be some triple jumping ballerina forced to use kitchenwear because the game punishes everything that is slow and heavy and manly

so whats the counter to the flash, who has to run fast and spams 0 stamina-requiring attacks just waiting for me to drop my guard.

ill tell u, there isnt one, because From is racist towards everyone who isnt sonic.
