AA solution?
So I noticed that by disabling the ingame antialiasing (it doesn't describe the type of AA), everything becomes much clearer at the cost of jaggies, whereas in other games this doesn't occur. I assume that it is some old form of FXAA or something, because even the FXAA in borderlands 2 doesn't degrade the quality as much.

I just tried to use an SMAA injector that worked fine with Spec Ops: The Line, but it didn't do anything for this.

Does anyone know of any way to get high quality SMAA in this game?

Edit: Does anyone know any reason why the devs didn't implement MSAA within the game, it works perfectly in pretty much every other game, with almost no blurring. Is the engine incompatible?

people use sweet fx with this game i believe, i saw a post with some pre-sets on this forum so that could be worth looking into.

Okay, I had a look at it but I just want the SMAA, not any of the colour presets, and I didn't want to bother finding out how to do that through sweetfx.

Did a quick googlel search. I found a DarkSouls1 sweet fx preset on the nexus that mentions having "SMAA- My preset has it set to ultra to make sure it has the best AA with almost no performance loss". I assume that means Sweet Fx has SMAA options so you could probably install it and simply add SMAA?

I've not used it myself becuz Im on lowest settings, but I did notice what you have mentioned when I changed from high to medium and then low (lowest setting looking alot sharper but more jagged). Oh just found this too, in article about SMAA in Sweet FX: https://delightlylinux.wordpress.com/2014/02/17/sweetfx-smaa/

So sweet Fx is what you need.

Nvidia DSR

I completely forgot about the nvidia upscaling technology, even though I just watched the best friends playing through the original DS2 on pc, and using it at the end.

I'll try that out, hopefully my pc can handle a higher resolution. (its run perfectly fine, except for when a ton of barrels are being rolled through).

Edit: Just bothered to set up the geforce experience thing, but it isn't picking up DS2: SOTFS, and there is no way to point it to the executable, or to force dsr all the time... so yeah.

Yep, didn't see it before. It worked perfectly though I have to find the right resolution to keep the framerate at 60 for normal combat. To be honest I missed tweaking through graphics settings/mods/files since I replaced my ♥♥♥♥♥♥ laptop with a decent desktop, it feels so good for some reason.

Can somebody explain what is DSR smoothness exactly?

The higher the smoothness is the more washed the image looks like. I use 4k at 18% smoothness.

Time to necro!

Reshade 3.1.0 SMAA works wonders here, turn off the ingame FXAA which is nigh unbearable while having Reshade work its magic.

I have run with Reshade SMAA for over 6 months now, fought in the arena, invaded and killed scrubs, helped people with bosses online etc. and haven't gotten softbanned!
