Adjust soul memory?

In this article they talk about how you can adjust your soul memory to better match make with who you want. I can not find a way to do this any where. Has any one come across how to change your soul memory range?

They might just be meaning the Agape Ring sold by Straid, it stops you gaining souls/soul memory.
Belaphon Apr 3, 2015 @ 5:25pm
Use the Agape ring, so you can stop collecting souls whenever you want....

Still doesn't fix souls lost on death, which is ridiculous.

I'm up to my second lord and I already lost 40k+ souls. 16k lost on Earthen Peak and 20k on Iron Keep, and smaller deaths. And I'm not dying that much, I imagine newer players would lose a lot more.

Loosing souls on death doesnt need a fix, it has been a things since Demon souls, if u think this is a bug pls uninstall, if u dont like it, why are u even playing?, and if you are loosing your souls, Git Gut Nub

When he said he was either being really cryptic or just full of crap. The Agape ring is the only way to "control the range" of soul memory.

Huh? The ♥♥♥♥ are you on about?

The other games don't have Soul Memory. Here, you lose souls on death, and yet they're still counted in Soul Memory, which means you eventually get bloated Soul Memory way above your character strength.

It's one of the many reasons the Soul Memory system is awful design. Spending souls on consumables also has the same effect, bloating your SM while having nothing to do with character strength.

He means that if you die and lose souls you don't lose souls from soul memory and your multiplayer matchmaking range is increased further even though you haven't actually invested any souls to your level or gear.

Yeah I guess I didn't explain properly.

Consumables too, again. If you want to pvp with a build that uses throwing items or ammo, you'll need souls to replenish them, so you'll need to keep increasing SM anyway.

Having SM is both a weakness and a strength. Same with not having SM.

You know, you can always farm for the items you want with the Agape Ring on. Its an option, maybe not the best one but its there.

You should definitely get your hands on the Ring of Life Protection and/or Ring of Soul Protection. It will protect your souls and even humanity. Once you die the ring breaks and you'll need to repair for 3k/6k depending on the ring. Then you won't lose anymore souls! Good luck!

You can't farm for many of the consumables sold by vendors.

SM was choosen over SL matchmaking so From could create a system to punish those who use 3rdparty programs to alter their stats, so if u have SL that won match your SM Ban, if u have more Souls than SM ban, if u have stats u should have with certain SL ban, same with SM certain stats withouth SM ban, so ppl who have X amount of souls will match with their respective Tier, meaning they should have the same skill, and the same % to win if an invader arrives

Also if u loose your souls its your fault for being a noob, and suiciding, u dont like it? leave the game, From wont suffer just cuz 1 player runned away cuz he couldnt beat the same reatarded mobs a second time

I only ever gotten 'bunned' because I edited my chimes/staves to have a Poison/Bleed effect to increase their effectively by three times the normal amount. It was fun one shotting people with forbidden fun.
Belaphon Apr 3, 2015 @ 6:24pm
Believe me it´s more fun to beat them in a fair fight....
