Attunement Question
So i'm playing pure int build, how many levels do i want on the Attunemen stat as spell caster character ? (Without additional gear bonuses/With additional gear bonses)?
Also, any reccomendation on how to develop my class early/late stage?
And what gear is the most efficient for us, the casters?

Thank you very much in advance :)

Bump!

as much as you need for spell slots.

"caster" gear generally adds more spell slots or increases number of spell casts - there's only a couple of sets that do that.

weaponwise you're generally looking for things with magic scaling - anything enchanted or magic infused. Moonlight Greatsword is a crowd favorite.
Got it. I dont really need to put points on anything else beside int/attun right? perhaps abit of endurance
It depends, really. Personally, I keep my attunement at 30 max usually (enough for six spell slots before any items), unless I want a second cast of a single cast spell like Crystal Magic Weapon without using an item, then I put it at 43.

If you're wanting to go pure, or near pure spellcasting, I recommend leveling Intelligence and Faith relatively equally to 20, then likely favoring Intelligence until you hit 40/50 (the soft cap). Or you can do what my friend did once, get Intelligence and Attunement to 99 for max spellcasting speed and nothing else, and seeing what you can do with that. :P

Spoiler for potential equipment, if you want the hint: The Staff of Wisdom, one of, if not THE most powerful sorcery staff in terms of raw magic stat, can be found in the Royal Army Campsite (bonfire of the same name). You have to take the path to the left that allows you to jump on, and then into, the well, which leads you to a chest that contains the staff.

If you trade four boss souls to Straid (petrified guy at the top of the Lost Bastille) he'll give you his armor set, the Black set. Its low weight, relatively good defenses, and excellent elemental defenses. Its hood also gives +2 Intelligence/Faith, and increased casting speed.

In the Shaded Woods, you'll find a petrified Lion Warrior in the ruins to the right of the area (relative to you coming in). Behind him is a chest containing the Lion Mage set (chest, gloves, boots) which all increase your casting speed. There's also a Fragrant Branch of Yore to replace the one you used. Also, in the area before that (the foggy area with the invisible enemies) there's a Blue Tearstone Ring +1, which also increases your cast speed.

I've seen people do just intelligence/attunement, but I recommend also getting a good amount of Vigor (at least 20), and Endurance (20). Vitality you only need to keep your equipment weight between 30-50%, per your preference. This will allow you to at least take a few hits. Also, getting strength or dexterity to wield whatever weapons you wish, of course. The Dragonrider Halbred, while heavy, could be pretty effective. And the Dragonrider Bow is an intelligence scaling bow for better targetting than your spells (also more ranged).

Thanks alot buddy. You helped me alot!
Yeah i was guessing the Staff of Wisdom is a beast of weapon.
Im not new to the game, but with all the changes now and after it being so long i kinda forgot alot of stuff.
I think ill cap int/attun to 99 ;]
One thing which botherd me always in souls games was that it is so easy missing on things, specially in terms of exhausting conversations with npcs.
There's no special item i may miss on, as a caster right?
I also heard "Warlock Mask" is extremely rare. I never understand how to actually get it. Is that suppose to be a drop at the shrine of aman? God i hated that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ place so much

rare drop off a mob that only shows up all of twice in the original game without bonfire ascetics.

There might be more now, idk haven't gotten that far yet.

In terms of obtuse conversation prizes...nothing comes to mind that's caster-related. The closest thing is the Pilgrims of Dark covenant but that's more for hexes and people who want the best miracle chime.

Maybe if you want lucatiel's hat for fashion purposes.

Well, you have to talk to Straid, then there's the Hexer set from the merchant when you have enough stats. Not sure if you need to exhaust their dialogue, however.
Cool cool. I took my sweet time off Bloodborne with this, and i gotta say, it's so much fun for me!
Never got to play the three dlcs, nor the patch content - Feels like a whole new game to me :)
