They successfully split the player base in half

Only a few dozen more. Dark Souls II regularly had about ~5-6k players online. So the community is basically split at the moment. Even the first game has about 2k online right now, which is absurd. I'm currently wondering if rebuying the game for 25 euro is worth it. I don't have the dlc's, so I'm in a better spot than people who bought everything on the base game.

Still, I do not want to support such absurd practices for re-releasing games for a price AGAIN simply because they added DX11 support.

There are countless games that add DX11 without extra charge. I'd understand that if you had the base game, and you needed to get the DLCs for the SotFS version to be available, but even penalize the people who supported you from the very beginning, not to mention split the community?

WHAT HAPPENED?! I used to love FromSoft, now they turned into typical gaming industry douches that think nothing of their fanbase, only how to rinse more money out of them.

I got from Forest Hunter 0 to +3 in one evening. There's lots of people playing, especially in the later parts of the day. Sure, it's not perfect, but you do get constant traffic, if you use the WatchDog anti-cheat plugin, and use the nodes for reference to find good traffic of players.

Last version will dwindle, this will either rise in sales or maintain the numbers.

So get this one.

Your reply does not make any sense, either you've bought it or not.
You asked if you should buy this version or the previous Dark souls 2 version and he was just answering your original question.

This is sufficiently different from the original game to warrant the asking price if you wanted more PC Souls.

If you don't want more PC souls or just don't care or are happy with the original you can skip it.

You'd be buying a upgrade, which is a great deal if you never bought the DLC, and not too bad a cost if you did buy the DLC (it was about $13 for me to upgrade, owning both DS2 and the Season Pass.. I'm fine with that, with the changes that this upgrade brings). Obviously, owners of DS2 and the DLC gets the bad end of the stick here, but it's not too bad. There is enough of a change to make this worth it's relatively minor upgrade cost. I see it as a DLC purchase that changes up the entire game, quite a bit. I also have the option to freely jump between the vanilla and upgraded game, as it's two separate entries. It's more than pretty bells and whistles with DX11, although that makes a difference too, especially with how dark areas are actually dark now on proper Gamma settings. Enemy placement changes are very noticable, it paces the game differently, makes it feel better. The item distribution helps with the pacing too. Neat little secrets like invisible Hollows that casts shadows, so you need a light source to spot them. There's good changes with this upgrade, and I enjoy DS2 more than ever thanks to it. I do not regret buying the upgrade, and think it was worth it. It has made the game feel different to me. Positively so.

You can see how many players a game has by just looking at the top of the Community Hub. E.g., vanilla Dark Souls II lists 5,084 In-Game and SotFS lists 7,911 In-Game. Alternatively, you could look through http://store.steampowered.com/stats/ to find the titles there.

im not buying the game again
