How to make x360ce to work with Dark Souls 2 SOTFS !
First, for lazy people and those who doesnt want to mess with x360ce.ini and so on you can just download this and start the game. TRY NOT TO OPEN x360ce.exe before you start game though !

Prepared x360ce configuration, download/extract/play
https://www.sendspace.com/file/zwhljf

Whole thing is next:
1. Download x360ce - https://code.google.com/p/x360ce/downloads/detail?name=x360ce.App-2.1.2.191.zip&can=2&q=
2. Download 64bit library - https://code.google.com/p/x360ce/downloads/list
3. Extract files from both .zip folders into game directory where is DarkSouls2.exe
4. DONT OPEN x360ce.exe by any means !
5. Open x360ce.ini and edit next:
Under [Options] add:
Version=1

Then remove "HookCOM=1" and instead that add:
[InputHook]
HookLL=1 - If your game keep crashing change this to 0
HookCOM=1
HookSA=0
HookWT=0
HOOK_DI=0
HOOK_PIDVID=0

Save .ini file (again, dont start x360ce.exe)

Start game and enjoy. Playing right now !

Have Fun,
dsr07mm

UPDATE:
"For anyone who's having this problem, mostly follow his steps, but copy the x360ce.exe into another folder, run it and use it to make an .ini file with buttons mapped to your controller.
Then copy that ini file into the DaS2:SotFS game folder with the .dlls.
THEN do the edits mentioned above in the .ini file (adding Version=1 and the hooks).

If you crash, then change HookLL=1 to 0, for me at least that seems to work."

I tryed it and my dark souls 2 SOTFS now gets the " Dark Souls 2 SOTFS has stopped working". Did it exactly as the tutorial said.

Tried the prepared config and now the game just crashes on startup. Any way to get around this?

It shouldn't be this hard to get a ps3 controller working on pc games are devs incompetent?

You missed something rather large in your steps: Setting up the ini so it works with the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ controller.

For anyone who's having this problem, mostly follow his steps, but copy the x360ce.exe into another folder, run it and use it to make an .ini file with buttons mapped to your controller.
Then copy that ini file into the DaS2:SotFS game folder with the .dlls.
THEN do the edits mentioned above in the .ini file (adding Version=1 and the hooks).

If you crash, then change HookLL=1 to 0, for me at least that seems to work.

I do not feel that it works for the 360 Wireless Controller.
When I run Dark Souls, A window tells me "x360ce is misconfigured or device is disconnected"

Yeah if I disable the human interface controller gamepad thing, it just turns off the controller and nothing picks up

I tried his fix also. Never touched this program before and still dont know how it works, but one of the files he has you unzip into the folder crashes the game. I got my 360 controller to work by importing control schemes from online. It's all in the program. Fiddle with it a bit and you should have it working.

That helped, thanks a lot, now i can enjoy being raped into oblivion not as a result of buggy controlls but because of casul hands.

I added that in topic, thanks for info. At the end people are responding that they are fixing controllers. So its partially fixed almost for everyone.

IN the original dark souls 2 with the controler
Run= press LS
Jump = A

But in dark souls 2 SOTFS
To run i need to activate on keyboard X, and with that is always runing making him to waste stamine all the time.
but if i dont activate the run in X he will not be able to jump.

problem:
jump = Press LS

need to fix to:
run = press LS
Jump = A

any help?

Hey there,

I've been messing around with this, and trying to get my DualShock 3 working, but I keep running into one particular issue.

Whenever I launch the game, I get the 'beep' that confirms x360ce is working, but the game opens into a black screen with my mouse cursor flickering from the DSII cursor, and the standard Windows cursor. Then proceeds to crash if I press any input.

I'd imagine I'm missing some sort of a requirement, but I believe I have every Visual C++ and .NET version stated on the Google Projects page.

Any ideas?

Well, I managed to get things working. Figured I'd leave my findings here, for anyone in a similar situation.

Be sure to disable all HID compliant game controllers from your control panel. They'll usually be labeled as USB Controller or Wireless Controller, etc.

For some odd reason, Direct Input overwrites Xinput in the case of DS2. Never had that issue with any other game, but hey.

Cheers.

И ещё одно решение на русском (справедливо для геймпадов xbox 360 и xbox one))
Скачать: https://www.sendspace.com/file/zwhljf
Распаковать в папку с DarkSoulsII.exe
Затем скачать: 64bit библиотеку -- https://code.google.com/p/x360ce/downloads/list
И также распаковать в папку с DarkSoulsII.exe
